Dear Prayer Partners, We’d like to take a few minutes to ask you to lift up some extra prayers for VISTA right now. We are halfway through our third 4 week VISTA module and our students are really struggling. Here are some things we would like to ask you to pray for:
-Two students have lost family members (one lost both a daughter and a nephew) -Another student has had to return home because his uncle is very ill -During the two months between VISTA modules, the students did not do the work of checking their translation due to a misunderstanding. This has put us behind schedule for completing the amount of verses we agreed to translate and check before the end of the year. We have a plan and are working to catch up, but this is stressful for both the students and the staff. -Many of the students are struggling to grasp written Hebrew (although they have done quite well with the spoken language). The foreign characters are confusing and stressful to them. Please pray that God would open their eyes and their minds to understand the lessons Craig is teaching so that they can produce accurate and meaningful translations of Scripture into their languages. -Pray for wisdom and encouragement for the VISTA staff and all of our team as we deal with these challenges. -Praise God that despite the many difficulties that have occurred, that he is still in control and guiding VISTA and everything else. -Also, please lift up a praise for our teammates the Weldys and the Kopkes and their arrival to Vanuatu. Pray for them as they work through orientation and Bislama language learning. This can be a stressful time. -Please be in prayer for Craig as he is teaching both Hebrew to the VISTA students and Bislama to our new teammates each day, that is a lot of language information for his brain to process! *VISTA: Vanuatu Institute for Scripture Translation and Application
Thank you again for your prayers Craig and Katy (and Elijah and Josiah) |
