Polio driver going to market

Happy New Year!

Counting your blessings, for joy! We have much to be thankful for this year. This man does too!  His life dramatically changed from being a polio victim without the use of his legs to a person of influence in his village.  He is the go-to guy for moving goods in his region.

Widow’s Mite

A special person reminded us of the bible story and greatly encouraged us with a five figure donation this year even though he falls below the poverty line in the USA. He believes the BUV vision can impact millions of lives. We do too!

Scott Price & Will

Tanzania

We are grateful for our partner BUV-Tanzania and their support via CMF International. They will begin assembling BUVs in January 2013, and will also set-up rural delivery services.

Truss BUV 135

Innovation

Our new passenger model has generated strong interest. We are grateful and honored to be selected as a winner at the Indiana Innovation AwardsThe truss-style, angle-iron frame is better for local manufacturing in Africa.

Biking Across Africa

Mike Lantz, a long-time volunteer of BUV, is biking from Egypt to South Africa to raise BUV funds and for adventure! It will take 4 months and he needs your prayer support as danger abounds. The funds will go toward a BUV Training Center in Africa. We recommend donating 10¢ for each mile that Mike completes.  We hope for some $1.00 per mile pledges too. He leaves for Egypt on Jan 6! Contact us to pledge, follow Mikes blog, or get twitter updates.

New Applications

We are excited about people using the BUV to drill for water, and also for wood harvesting/processing. The BUV with the Lonestar drill rig is a powerful combination in the Congo. Likewise, the BUV and the portable Wood-Mizer sawmill can provide support many families.

Momentum

Africans often express interest in launching a BUV factory, but lack the means. Recently, we have strong interest from an established African manufacturer to build BUVs. We love the owner’ track record of reinvesting profits on the continent to help start and build churches.
