Greetings from Taiwan:

I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers” (Philemon 4).  This past week, hosting our field coordinators, Dana & Chris McCain; we were asked to reflect back over 16 years of missionary service.  What have we learned?  What life lessons go with us?  One of the first blessings that came to mind was those who have so faithfully supported us, both financially and in prayer, all these years.  We have never had a need that the Lord has not met through you!  Yes, I thank God for you!

This morning the Come Christian Church is doing something a little different on this GO Sunday.  We will all gather, as if it was a COME Sunday.  Linda Chang, who has spent the better part of the past 1 1/2 years, in missionary training; will lead us in how she has been trained to share Bible stories — from the Book of Philemon.  We’re very proud of Linda, and are praying that this new inductive Bible study method will be a valuable Kingdom tool as we move forward.

Today mark 150 days until we will say farewell to our work here.  Our days are full as we strive to finish well.  I continue to be reminded that, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain” (Ps 127:1).  So, we need your prayers now more than ever!

We have a house guest for the next 3 months, James Lien.  James is 26, and an architect.  On May 10th, James and Wendy Lee want to honor God in their wedding and marriage.  So, James, who has not yet accepted Jesus as his Savior, has moved in with us until their wedding day.  You might remember Wendy; as a middle school student, she was in our very first youth group back in Kaohsiung.  She has even been to the US with us!  Please pray for James & Wendy!

We’re very proud of the growth we are seeing in God’s people here.  Please pray as together they make decisions about the future, and beyond Dave & Brenda.  Please pray for wisdom, faith and courage to act!

Thank you for your partnership with us in this ministry.  “I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ” (Philemon 6).

May the Lord bless you and yours!

All for God’s Glory Among the Nations,
Dave Atkin
