Seasons Greetings from Taiwan:

“Greet Priscilla and Aquila….Greet also the church that meets at their house.” (Rom 16:3a, 5a)  Sometimes gatherings of God’s people could be found by the river, sometimes in a lecture hall, sometimes on a temple porch and sometimes in believers’ homes.  In Taiwan, I picture churches meeting in every high-rise apartment building, gated community and in local parks.  I’ve also prayed for the church to fill stadiums.  Because the temple of God is within us, through the Holy Spirit (I Cor 3:16); because where two or three are gathered in the name of Jesus – God is present (Matt 18:20) — the location of the gathering or whether or not you have a clergyman present matters not at all!

I suppose these things come to mind this week because we are seeing these dreams taking place.  In the month of December, save the stadium, we’ll see God’s people gather in all of the above locations.  And, I am still praying for the stadium!

Please pray for the live nativity — Dec. 21 & 22 — in a local park.  Pray that many seeds will be sown as we celebrate the birth of our Savior!

Our second daughter, Tabitha, is beginning a week of semester ending exams at the Univ. of Chicago Law School.  When those are over, she’ll be returning to Taiwan for Christmas!  Please join us in praying for her.

Linda Zhang, our back door neighbor and like another daughter to us, will graduate from YWAM’s year-long intensive Bible training course, this coming Friday, in Taipei.  Brenda and I will be attending the graduation ceremony.  We are very proud of Linda, and are praying with her about her future in Kingdom service.  Please join us in prayer for Linda!

On Dec 24, a MCA high school student, Mark, will have the same back surgery I had 8 years ago.  Dr Zhang Guo-hua, brilliant surgeon and my friend, will perform this surgery also.  I mention Dr Zhang because I still pray for him to come to Christ, and I will be seeing him several time in the course of this month.  Please pray for him with me!  And, pray for Mark and the McGill family, as Mark has a long road to recovery ahead.  (The picture I included is from 2 1/2 years ago, on one of Mark’s first visits to see Dr Zhang.)

Our monthly newsletter will be in your e-mail inbox, Lord willing, this coming week.  Thank you for prayers!  Thank you for your faithful partnership with us!  Thank you and may the Lord give you abundant opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus in the coming Holiday Season!
