Announcing a New Way to Plant Churches:

Group-sourcing is a powerful force – what one individual or group may not be able to accomplish, with a little help from many, they can. iPlant Churches is an idea that could very well change the course of church planting in North Carolina, but in order for that to happen we need you.

iPlant Churches works when YOU decide to become a part of the larger picture. When you stand up and say, “Yes. I plant churches.”

The commitment is small and simple. But when dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of Christians make the commitment to plant churches, it happens.

Become a part of the iPlant Churches movement now. Today. Commit to giving just $5 a month. That’s just $60 over the course of a year. But $5 a month, joined with other believers across the state of North Carolina, will equate to an entirely new church plant every year.

Venture Christian Church:
Opening in Wilmington in 2013

Wilmington NC is one of the fastest growing cities in North Carolina. It’s no wonder either! The “Port City” is the center of commerce, culture, education and media in South Eastern NC. In recent years it’s caught world-wide attention through the local film industry, and all of this says nothing of the beautiful beach and river communities that families love to live in. Of course Wilmington is a growing city!

But it’s not these facts that have gotten the attention of the Envision team or Church planter, Chris Woolard. An alternate reality is that nearly 60% of Wilmington’s residents are either un-churched, de-churched, or far from God! More than anything else, Wilmington NC is a city that is desperate need of a church who will focus on reaching out to these people with the love of Jesus, inviting them into a life-long venture with God!

Venture Christian Church is our response to that need! Venture seeks to be church of God Chasing, Grace Shaped, Love Agents! Church Planter, Chris Woolard, moved his family to WIlmington in August of 2012 to start the work of starting Venture Christian Church!

Here are a few words from Chris:

“The people of Wilmington don’t just need another church, they need a group of sold out missionaries! We want to be a church for people who might otherwise hate church!

Church planting is not just about renting a building, having great worship, and a killer sermon – it’s about the love of Jesus affecting real change in a life, a family, a community.”

Venture is still in their pre-launch phase with plans to launch weekly public services in 2013. Momentum is building, there are already a couple of weekly discipleship group meeting where Chris is working on developing leaders, as well as a weekly house group where the core team can “be the church”!

Quick Updates from Our Church Plants:

Across North Carolina

Vintage City Christian Church :: Crockett Davidson

Vintage City Church is a new church located in Hickory, NC and it’s soul purpose is to lead the city to become passionate followers of Jesus. Hickory is an amazing city filled with people from all different backgrounds and experiences, but one thing rings true about this city and its people… The people here are searching for more… They know there is more to their life then just work, family, hobbies and entertainment and at their core they know there is more to church.

Catalyst Christian Church :: Scott Haulter
Catalyst Church was planted in northwest Greensboro in October of 2009, as a place where people far from God would feel comfortable. In the relatively short history of Catalyst Church we have seen God move. Relationships are paramount to us; we believe that true discipleship can only take place within authentic, personal relationships. In fact, our mission at Catalyst is to introduce people to the real Jesus, one person at a time.

Varsity Christian Church :: Chad Simpkins
Varsity Church is getting ready to celebrate our second birthday! We can say that 2012 has been our best one so far in our very short lifespan. This past year, we baptized 6 people, moved into a new space, have seen over 100 new visitors in the last four months since our move, helped provide weekend backpacks of food to 24 students in one of our local schools and led our community in an event where we packaged 10,000 meals for ALL the schools in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro City School District (plus two in Durham). Varsity continues to impact lives in this area.

CITY Christian Church :: Chris Jones
Outwardly, CITYChurch may not seem victorious. I would say that we are in a similar position to that which King David was in when he first ran away from Saul. He ran to the caves. That doesn’t seem like victory. A bunch of rejects and criminals asked him for help. Again, not a plan for victory. But it was from that group, and the time spent in that cave that David’s Kingship was built. CITYChurch is building a culture of warriors, of people who will make an impact for the Kingdom of God.
