BLOG: AM I GOOD ENOUGH TO BECOME A MISSIONARY?
Have you ever entertained the idea of becoming a missionary? Many Christians have considered the possibility at some point, but then quickly brushed the thought away. Far too often it’s because of a feeling of inadequacy. READ NOW >>
BLOG SERIES: MEET IS: 4 FUN FACTS ABOUT EVERY INTERNATIONAL SERVICES MISSIONARY
One reason you don’t hear about IS (International Services) is because you shouldn’t! The goal of IS is to help and support our missionaries around the world. SERVE IN LOUISVILLE, KY
International Services exists to train and support missionaries. This can include many different roles and responsibilities. This month we want to highlight two areas that could use additional support. If you are interested in either position, please fill out a profile to learn more!

  • Serve in IT: if you are gifted with an understanding of Information Technology, we need you! You can use your gifts to advance the Kingdom.
  • Serve in Finance: do you like numbers? We need additional workers with a passion for accounting to help us in this vital area.

SERVE IN INDIA
Missionaries in India need teammates. India is the most unreached country in the world. Over 1.2 billion people have never heard the Gospel. Learn more about serving in India as an apprentice (we call it Quest) or full-time by filling out a profile.

Jehovah-Jireh, we are thankful that you are calling new people to the field. You are truly the God who provides. We pray for bravery for those who are called. We pray for them to be surrounded by wise councilors. We pray for their family and their friends to support them. We pray for them to remain steadfast in your Word.

God, this decision feels overwhelming. It feels crazy. But following you, Lord is the best decision we can ever make!

We pray for your Word to spread throughout the remaining 6564 unreached people groups. We pray for more workers to go. We pray for the locals to hear. We pray for your word to multiply and grow exponentially.

We are thankful, God, for the people who support these workers through prayer and donations. We know that you are using each of these people to advance your Kingdom and fulfill the Great Commission. We pray for more supporters who will give sacrificially of their time and resources.

And we are thankful for Jesus. For grace. For love. Help us show these things and live on mission, wherever you have called us to serve you, today. We pray this in Jesus’ name. AMEN

CAMPUS UPDATE

A couple of weeks ago, a friend from an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (known for its majority of Muslims), asked if I could help disciple a refugee from the Middle East. As I’ve met with him and facilitated three-thirds groups (discovery Bible studies), I’ve been reminded of just how much courage it takes to accept Jesus in some parts of the world.

This young man could lose everything.

In fact, last time our group met, we asked him point blank: “Are you prepared to lose your job, home, wife, kids, parents, future, and maybe even your life?” He hesitated only long enough to make sure he was answering seriously, “Yes, I’m ready.”

At Emerald Hills, we train workers who want to courageously leave everything, travel to the far ends of the earth, and share the Good News of Jesus. Their brave decision to go is often the catalyst for brave new local believers. But they can’t go alone.

When you pray, you fuel their fire to communicate Christ, along with the hope and help He brings to the world. When you give, your partnership brings encouragement and strength to our organization and our future. These acts of courage today can change someone’s eternity tomorrow. It’s easy to begin partnering with Emerald Hills through prayer or giving, just go here. Together, let’s advance Christ’s Kingdom and give all the praise and glory to Him.

Grace and Peace,

Doug Lucas
