Aletheia International Ministries –
Christmas Parties Newsletter

Dear friends and family

This is just a quick update on proceedings at Aletheia. The Lord has been so faithful in providing for us over the past few weeks and we are just so thankful.

Christmas Parties

Our first party is this coming Saturday (26 November) and up until This past Tuesday, we were well short of the funds and donations needed to supply the food, treats for the goodie bags, as well as gifts for the children. Then by Tuesday we received donations from very generous and caring individuals which was enough to cover all the needs. We were once again reminded that the Lord always provides, and in His timing, not ours.

Limpopo

Our last trip to Venda for the year will be taking place on Monday 12 December. If you have any old toys, clothes etc. please get in contact with us. We really want to be able to take a Vito packed to the roof with items which can be used as gifts for the children up there. We will also be taking up donations of sweets, chips, cooldrinks, so we would appreciate any assistance towards this as well.

Getty

Please continue to keep Getty in your prayers. She has really battled with her health this year, and needs to go for an operation, but the fist available date is only on 13 December. She is in considerable pain so please pray that she will get an earlier date for the operation. So many people in her neighbourhood depend on Getty for guidance, encouragement, prayer and just general assistance, and with her health she has hardly been able to get out of bed.

Vito

Thanks to caring individuals, we received much needed funds to repair issues on our Mercedes Vito. We are still working on raising funds towards a suitable replacement vehicle as the Vito is now almost twelve years old and has very high mileage. A replacement vehicle will cost roughly R 250 000 ($ 18 600). As mentioned before, Aletheia relies on decent, dependable transport to make a difference, and should we be stranded, our works will be severely hampered. Please prayerfully consider whether this is a project you would be interested in supporting.

Family News

The past three weeks saw my cousin Pam visiting from Wyoming, USA. Pam accompanied us on our weekly visits to the daycare centres, assisting with food pickups and distribution, and really got a good first-hand experience of what we do. We all loved having her here, and can’t wait for her to visit again.

On Saturday 19 November we celebrated my mom Marilyn’s 80th birthday. All my sons managed to come up to Johannesburg for the weekend, and we had a lovely family/thanksgiving celebration.

Please keep us in prayer as the next few weeks are going to be really busy.

In Him,
Connie, Morné and Aletheia Team
