Thank God:
· For a good conclusion to Mike’s week of working with the Akukem team.
· For sustaining, protecting, and enabling us.
Please Pray:
· For Mike and teammates Norm and Kevin as they prepare for a meeting with the Mbore translation board and a few members of the translation team. As you may be aware from past prayer updates, serious concerns have surfaced which must be resolved before the Mbore New Testament can be published. This week’s meeting is crucial to deciding what must be done and planning how to go about doing it.
· For the Mbore men who will participate in the meeting, that God will give them understanding. Pray for clarity of thought for every missionary and Mbore person in the meeting. Pray that the entire group will be united in each decision they make.
· For Eunice as she continues a time of intense work on PBT’s magazine The Latest Word.
· For God’s comfort for Sob translator Ari and his wife Sarita at the loss of their third child, a son who was stillborn Sunday.
· That Willa, newborn daughter of teammates Brian and Hannah, will receive her PNG visa this week so that her family can return to PNG. Their visas for the country where they went for Willa’s birth expire soon, and besides that, they’re eager to get settled back into their PNG home.
· That roads and bridges destroyed in storms a few weeks ago will be quickly rebuilt. The damaged road is Madang’s primary link to highlands-grown food and to many goods from the town of Lae. Additionally, this road is essential for transporting equipment and supplies to replace five electric power pylons that were destroyed.
· For patience and flexibility to deal with frequent and unpredictable power outages. Pray also for wisdom as we make decisions about providing our own source of back-up power.
