Team,
Your prayers made all the difference in preparation for this trip to Africa. We may not know until eternity their great effect…
This one I know:
God has been working on the heart of Basil – a farmer in the little Kulango village of Gbaki (pronounced – Bah-key). He desperately wanted a church in his village. Basil is a man of action – a group of Pentecostals some time ago promised to come to the village – so he built a church building (a nice one).
That promise never came to fruition.
Then Basil learned that Kouame was in the area to reach out to Kulango villages AND an American was coming. Laura told you about the four times he came asking us to come to his village (by motorbike – the only way in).
We had put the visit on hold for safety concerns – Kouame would go later. But Basil doesn’t take “no” easily. He phoned – telling us that he had gathered the village leaders to listen to our message. “Please come.”
So we did. 18 men signed up for Bible Study. Kouame will return to the area this next week and spend many days in their village. He’s bringing the Jesus Film – they don’t have a TV in the village (he’ll use a personal DVD player).
Kouame’s goal is to fill the village with the gospel, pick out a potential preacher and schedule him for training.
Our Lord has been working on Basil’s heart for a long time… in preparation for the Lord’s church to truly be established in Gbaki. Your prayers are part of the human & spiritual chain that will see Basil’s godly dream come true. Thank you.
for Jesus’ sake, Tom & Laura
