Togo Christian Mission Jan 2015 Update – God’s Grace to Heal
TOGO CHRISTIAN MISSION
Seasons Greetings from TCM! Date: January 1st, 2015
We hope you all had a very blessed Christmas celebrating our Savior’s Birth! We are also praying for the Lord’s blessings and provisions for each of you in the coming year. Thank you so much for partnering with us. Thank you for investing your time in resources in something that yields an eternal reward. May God’s peace be on each of you this year!
GOD’S GRACE TO HEAL
We have recently received a patient named Ameto. He came to us after he had spent over a month of visiting idol priests for healing. He told us that someone had cursed him through an idol priest and that is how his wound started. A local preacher connected him with our clinic. When he arrived his entire leg was black and infested with worms. If he had gone to any nearby hospital they would have turned him away. Even for a few weeks we were evaluating if he would need his leg amputated. The first day took over 3 hours to try to start cleaning his wound. We praise God for the strength he gives us in the face of such wounds. Every time Ameto comes to the clinic we start with prayer. We remind him that all healing comes from Christ and nothing is too large for God to do, even when it seems impossible. He is listening but we still are asking prayers that he will give his life fully to Christ. God is doing amazing things as far as healing him physically as well. All of the dead tissue is gone and healing is beginning for him. We praise God for what He is doing. Please keep praying with us for a complete healing as he has such a testimony about what God has already done in his life.
CELEBRATING THE 2014 YEAR OF SERVICE
As 2014 comes to a close we realize how blessed we are to serve with our brothers and sisters in Christ here. God is using the work of our hands for His glory. This past December we had a closing ceremony for the Christian School. The children did an excellent job in their studies this first semester! We had an award ceremony for all the students and recognized all who passed their government midterm exam and then those who ranked first, second, and third. They also recognized those who are helping in the school compound by keeping things clean. The students even participated with songs, dances, and skits they had prepared for everyone’s entertainment. We are blessed to have an excellent batch of students this year!
We also were able to have a meal for all of our staff as a celebration for Christmas and an appreciation for the staff. It was a time of encouragement for all. We are so glad to have staff that seek Christ’s kingdom first. Please pray for more boldness for all of our workers in proclaiming His kingdom to all and that we all will be bright lights for Christ in this dark generation.
Praise God for a successful first semester of school
