It’s A Miracle

Have you ever wondered, “Is going to the mission field worth it?”

One of our CMF missionaries, Larry Kineman, was in the U.S. visiting supporting churches. He dropped in on a Sunday school class and the children had written notes to the missionaries the church supports.

Here is the note that Larry received from one sweet girl named Hannah.

Sharing the Gospel is a miracle. The Gospel message is what so many people in the world have been waiting for their whole lives. So is going to the mission field worth it? Absolutely yes!!!

Meet Megan + Michelle

Megan and Michelle Moss began their journey several years ago after taking short-term missions trips: Megan to Kenya and Michelle to Ethiopia. These young believers felt God leading them to pursue missionary service. They initially made a commitment to serve for one year in Tanzania with our church-planting team. That one-year commitment ended in October, but Megan and Michelle love the ministry in Tanzania so much that they have committed to return to Tanzania for two more years! Partnership Coordinator, Nairobi, Kenya: Serve on CMF’s urban poor team in Nairobi as part of the CMF/ Missions of Hope International partnership to deepen the ministry involvement of U.S. church partners. This individual will work alongside 13 ministry centers and churches in the Mathare Valley slum, identifying needs with the pastor, center director, social worker, and CHE coordinator. These needs will be communicated with U.S. church partners to plan projects and short-term trips, and to facilitate the involvement of U.S. church members with specific skills that can benefit the poor in Mathare. This individual will also work with Stateside churches partnering in the same community to coordinate efforts and develop a stronger ministry partnership as they serve together in Mathare. This individual should have 10 or more years’ experience on a church staff, be creative, be willing to work with Kenyan partners and make at least a three-year commitment to the ministry.

Guest House Manager, Nairobi, Kenya: Our ministry in Nairobi, Kenya, hosts many short-term teams throughout the year and has opened a guest house to provide accommodations for them. A Guest House Manager with a background in management or hospitality is needed to provide oversight of all guest house operations. Responsibilities would include coordinating the logistics of each team’s stay at the guest house, overseeing preparations for the teams, planning menus, and ensuring that the guest house runs smoothly and efficiently. A one- to two-year commitment is preferred.

Labor and Delivery Nurse or Midwife, Ivory Coast:
Our team in Ivory Coast is opening a maternity clinic that will provide care to pregnant women with HIV in the city of Abengourou. Young women with HIV have special needs and certain measures need to be taken to care for the mother and to avoid mother-to-child HIV transmissions.  By opening this maternity clinic, their current Pediatric Clinic – which cares for more than 2,500 HIV+ patients – will become the first full-service pediatric AIDS care center in the country. The team is looking for an experienced midwife or nurse with experience in labor and delivery to help provide pre-natal, delivery, post-partum and neonatal care alongside Ivorian medical staff. The team is asking that the individual make a commitment of at least one year, though a longer commitment would be helpful.
