THE CONTAINER HAS ARRIVED

We want to let you know the container arrived in November! It has been a learning process to go through the proper procedures and paperwork with the authorities. We rejoiced to see it pull up on the back of a semi-truck in Vogan.

We praise God that the container and all its contents arrived safely. We found a company with a boom tuck to transfer it to the ground without injury. African equipment is not always well taken care of, so we were praying hard that everything would go safely. The tractor started right up and Dovene drove it out of the container.  We unloaded the donations, vehicle, and many other supplies.

We are so blessed by each of you who have given finances, time, prayer, and physical donations to bless the Togo Christian Mission.  We pray God would bless you 100 times what you have given!  This container will truly open a way for our agricultural project to help the mission be self-supporting, and has blessed the school and clinic abundantly with much needed supplies. Thank you!

As we are visiting villages where we currently have church plants, we are showing a film that teaches of the power of Christ to transform lives. We then share a personal message with villagers, hoping to see more people coming to hear gospel stories.

SAD VILLAGE UPDATE

We want to share an update on how God is moving in our Church plant in Djimadjo Kope (Sad Village). Recently Church planting staff went to visit and encourage through teaching on a Sunday afternoon. When they arrived they heard the idol priest had brought yet another idol to the village, and the idol worshipers were having a celebration.

Shortly after hearing this they ran into Gava, a man who had serious health issues in the past and has been struggling to give his life fully to God. He was walking back from the ceremony with two other idol worshipers. Gava did not come to the Church meeting, but went home.

An hour later Gava came to the Church. The brothers and sisters welcomed him, and Hammer went to speak to him when Gava asked him for prayer. He explained that the idol priest always calls him to play drums when there is a ceremony. In his heart he is not sure he wants to continue doing this. Hammer reminded him that God has brought him through so many things, including a sickness so severe he could not walk. Hammer spoke of God’s faithfulness having so much mercy on Gava’s life. He knows he cannot serve two gods, and must choose. Gava sat for a while, looking at the drumsticks which were still in his pocket.

The Church moved on in Bible study and allowed Gava to sit and think. After some time, he became angry, threw the drumsticks far into the bush, then got up and walked home.  After a while, Gava returned to tell the Church he had made a decision, and began singing “This Is the Day the Lord Has Made”. He shared his faith that God would do a miracle in his life, and that he is no longer going to play for the idol priest.  What rejoicing in the Church, and what an encouragement to have a brother finally turning to Christ.

Please continue to pray for Gava. He is in a very spiritually dark village and will face insult and anger for his decision. He is married with two children who are not part of the Church, so pray for their salvation as well.

Prayer Points:

  • Please pray for the village of Vo-Asso. We are applying for aid for the children of this Church. The village is isolated and there are many physical and spiritual needs.
  • Pray for our Village Church Plants. We are currently doing an evangelism campaign in several villages to reach more for Christ. Pray that many would hear the message and would keep returning to hear the stories of Christ.
  • Pray for Brittany Creasy, preparing to return to Togo in early 2015. Pray for the Lord’s provision and guidance.
  • Praise God for many patients at the clinic who are hearing Christ preached. Praise God for how He provides physically through the container, and for all of our native workers who are continually serving.
  • Pray against the schemes of the Devil. We are in a spiritual battle and Satan has had a hold on these people for so long. Pray for Satan’s chains to be loosed and lives to be turned to Christ.
  • Pray for those who have been affected by the Ebola virus in near-by countries. Pray for God’s mercy to stop the spread of it.
