PAGOK – Rebels and South Sudan Forces meet where GNPI Jesus Film was shown.

( pictured above Thomas III entertaining the village of Pagok with “charade language” that fellow potters can understand. His pottery can be found at : www.thomaskilian.com

Last week we asked prayer for a) our School, b) the tension among the Government of South Sudan and the UN  c) prayer requested for open doors in the Darfur region.  We are reporting on the tensions of South Sudan and Darfur.

In JUBA -This week Military and police components of the UN Mission in South Sudan, conducted a search for weapons and restricted items at the Protection of Civilians (POC) site located in the Tomping area of Juba.  They found weapons and destroyed , further adding to the tensions as the President of South Sudan has claimed the UN desires to run a parallel government.  Continue to pray for our Lord to provide protection to our men and women of peace and our colleagues in South Sudan.    Tomping is the area where the first shots were fired last December and where fighting began after a ceasefire last January when Tom came under fire.

In DARFUR – Sudanese president said that the policies of the United States are “harmful and destructive.” and that the International Criminal Court inquiry into genocide and crimes against humanity “are attempts to break the will of the Sudanese.”    ( President Omar El Bashir is still “At Large” for these crimes)  Continue to pray for God’s guidance in our work for this region.

In UPPER NILE  –  Mixed bag of news in The village of Pagok, ( the same village that Thomas and Tom showed the Good News Production International’s Jesus film in Sept 2013).  Rebels and South Sudan Forces meet. Hundreds of delegates gathered, including, top military officers, traditional leaders, representatives from the diaspora, as well as civil society organizations and faith-based groups, and foreign observers. The purpose was peace. Deliberations may continue for the next few days, adding that the gathering was “cordial and focused”.

Other sources within the rebel movement said some top generals informally expressed their rejection to a power-sharing arrangement that would see president Salva Kiir remain as the country’s leader during a proposed transitional period, reiterating alls for him to step down.

Pray that the prince of peace may be among them as He was with us within this same village.

In the US  – Mercy Partners has several meetings with collaborating ministries Tonight, Friday and Monday.  Prayer request for wisdom, guidance, and clarity.

How Are We Doing with Missions?

November 15th, 2014 Christian Standard published an article entitled “How Are We Doing with Missions?”  The publication asked five missions leaders in the Christian churches to answer several key questions about missions progress, obstacles, and opportunities.

Although not in the forum of mission leaders that were surveyed, you will find the questioned posed by Christian Standard and responses from Tom Kilian     READ at: www.mercy-partners.org/blog
