November 9 – 15

Caucasus

At least 35 Bibleless, churchless people groups live in the Caucasus region, formerly part of the Soviet Union. Pioneer Bible Translators desires for all of them to have God’s life-transforming Word in their own language.

Sunday
The influences of another major world religion combine with traditional animistic beliefs and a heritage of atheism to make this an area of deep spiritual hunger. Pray that this hunger will be satisfied by the Bread of Life.

Monday
The people in this region highly value oral communication in addition to the authority of the written word. Pray that they will come to know Jesus as they both hear and read Biblical narratives in their own languages.

Tuesday
The people groups we serve have no known believers. Pray for patience and wisdom as we slowly build the relationships and trust necessary for communicating the Gospel.

Wednesday
Regional politics and the difficulty of obtaining visas and local permission to live
in some areas present multiple challenges. Pray for discretion and for wisdom to know how best to engage with communities in this sensitive context. Pray for acceptance and trust.

Thursday
Our work here is still in its early stages. Pray for guidance as we make decisions about future opportunities.

Friday
Believers in this region face persecution, spiritual attack, and conflict. They also need to be discipled. Pray that despite these challenges they will come together in unity and be mobilized to reach out to neighboring groups.

Saturday
Major spiritual strongholds include shame, fear, and jealousy. Pray that God will bring His honor, freedom, and love to this place.
