An Eye-Opener

An Eye Opener!

Isaac Masiga, Regional Director of GNPI-Kenya

I recently received this letter from Deputy Director Erastus Moturi Sorobi of Partners In Christ (PIC KENYA),

Amago 2 copy“Thank you, GNPI-Kenya, for the kind support of a Solar Kit for a week. We are indeed thankful. We had gathered a team of young Christians, who are current students and alumni of the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication, with a mission of reaching the unreached in the interior parts in Kenya. We requested a Solar Kit in preparation for a mission trip to the Teso community in the Malaba-Amagoro Busia county, near Uganda.

We invited children for special film showings and found the Solar Kit was very handy. The kids had the opportunity to play games, sing songs, and learn the Word of God. The numbers of kids increased on a daily basis (from 20 to 50!) as they shared information about what they watched. In the afternoons, we had a very big turn out of high school students.

They watched films like Tough Choices and Promise of Love, and afterwards they discussed the films. We had two days of watching films with the high school students and other youths who don’t go to school, and it was indeed very fruitful. By the end of that week, they wanted to watch more Christian films of that kind.

The Solar Kit became an eye opener to PIC, and we are looking forward to partnering with GNPI-Kenya again in December 2014 for more films and more effective ministry with the help of a Solar Kit.”
