Ruby Church in Barbados Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Barbados is an independent Caribbean country, formerly a British colony, and the most easterly island of the West Indies. Mission Journeys began working in Barbados in 1988, helping with the construction of new church buildings and a Christian Service Camp.

During that time, we saw new churches begin and several church members take part in preaching and church leadership.

In 1994, Arlington Pinder-Marshall (pictured left with family) began the Ruby Christian Church in St Philips, Barbados.

He would become the first local minister in Barbados among the Restoration Movement Churches to plant a church since the departure of the last American missionary in 1972. Mission Journeys has been involved with the church from its beginning. Arlington has remained the minister for the entire 20 years!

On Sunday, October 12, 2014, the Ruby Christian Church celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Bill & Pam Teegarden traveled to Barbados to represent Mission Journeys. Bill spoke at their Homecoming & Crusade, October 13-17, 2014.

During the Crusade, 19 people came forward with 5 of them being baptized (pictured below).

In addition, plans to expand the current church building were unveiled (see below) along with an official ground-breaking ceremony.

Bill Teegarden will be returning to Barbados next summer (July 02-12, 2015) leading a mission team for Mission Journeys. Contact us if you are interested in taking part.
