Sunday
The centerpiece of our strategy is the Vanuatu Institute for Scripture Translation and Application (VISTA). Pray for favor in the eyes of government and education personnel who can facilitate VISTA’s establishment and accreditation.
Monday
God has provided a significant portion of the funding needed for VISTA to begin early next year. Pray that He will supply all of the remainder as it is needed.
Tuesday
Two new families have joined our team in Vanuatu this year. Pray that they will excel in understanding the language and culture.
Wednesday
Pray that the large and culturally diverse team we are asking God to build in Vanuatu will work together in God-honoring peace and unity.
Thursday
Many men and women who are ideally suited to serve as mother-tongue Bible translators already have responsibilities that will make it difficult for them to attend VISTA. Pray that God will remove all obstacles to their participation.
Friday
Public transportation linking Vanuatu’s many islands is difficult and unreliable. Ask the Lord to provide a ship to facilitate student travel to and from VISTA’s modular training.
Saturday
Bibles in Bislama, a language of wider communication here, were recently distributed to thousands of households. Pray that those who received copies will grow in their understanding of and obedience to God’s Word. |
