We are convinced that God has called us to bless our focus communities in as many ways as possible. We were privileged to do this with fun and educational activities while our friends from Savannah were here. [One member plans to be here longer to help bless and serve these communities.] We did English practice sessions in several locations, a Thanks giving fun event, and, in general, determined to show Jesus’ love to as many as possible.
As the third member of the Savannah team was heading home, we traveled with him as far as Jakarta. This week we are reviewing basic principles of business and how to use them to bless the poor and create opportunities to naturally talk about matters that are of eternal importance.
One of the products our entrepreneur/evangelists will be offering are D.light brand solar lamps. These quality, affordable products are a blessing to people who do not have electricity, fishermen, street vendors, and in the event of frequent power outages. We will also be offering filters to provide safe drinking water (well and city water sources are not safe) and organic fertilizers. Most of all we want to use the products as a way to be welcomed into a community so something much more important can be shared! The believer who founded the D.Light company chose the name not only because of the obvious connection to his product, but also as a reference to the verse, “Delight yourself in the Lord”. Join us in the prayer that the witness of our sales staff will multiply those who enjoy the reality of that verse.
Back in Ambon, Christmas preparations and fireworks are consuming the time, energy and funds of the Christians. Please pray for their hearts to be captured by a love for their lost neighbors as well.
