From east coast to west coast, it’s been an exciting month!
In California, two churches held launch Sundays: BAY CITY CHURCH in San Francisco and MISSION CITY CHURCH in Santa Barbara.
Mission City launched with two services on its opening Sunday. Both services were full, which created energy and excitement for the new church! Lead planter Jake Barker took the opportunity to share the vision for Mission City to become a church for everyone. After the service, one young man, a long time resident of the Santa Barbara, commented, "I feel like God brought this church here just for me."

Eddie Williams, lead planter of Bay City Church, has returned to the area where he spent much of his childhood. He and his wife Sarah want to build a movement of people who will make Jesus famous in San Francisco! On launch Sunday Eddie preached a clear call to follow Jesus. The morning was full of enthusiasm with a mix of people from the neighborhood and visitors from partnering churches who came to show their support. Bay City is off to a good start!

MISSION CHURCH in Ventura, CA celebrated their 7th birthday at the same time they moved into their new worship space. Mission loves to throw great parties because it points to the God who is the giver of all good gifts!
Mission’s desire is for this space to be a beacon of hope right off of the freeway. This month they also sent out several volunteers to join the launch team of Mission City Church in Santa Barbara. Seeing a church start, grow, and help other churches start is one of the greatest joys of church planting work!
