Odle Family

Join with as we pray for the needs of the Odles in Northern Ghana.
3 To Be On Our Knees
1. We are thankful for good steady rain this season which has brought the crops up and they are doing well! TY has planted 83 acres of rice and they are putting 95 acres of soybeans in the ground right now. All of this planting is done by hand, we have around 70 farmers, men and women out working. Continue to pray for favorable weather, protection from wandering cattle and safety for the farmers. The issue with cattle is that Fulani people move their cattle every day and sometimes the cattle get into the farm land and destroy it. One of the greatest threats to the farmers are snake bites, especially considering many of them are working barefoot or in sandals.

2. Our goal is to share with the people of TY, God’s story of how he brought Mike Squires the missionary who came before us and the relationships God put together over the years and finally that we came because of Jesus. We need to share the depth of this story with each of you as well and we will work on putting it all together, because it is truly a God Story! TY is a completely muslim community and we are praying for open hearts and the right time to share this story. Pray with us that God would make His timing clear to us, that the Holy Spirit would begin to soften hearts and that seeds would already have been planted that will bring forth a harvest of souls in this community.

3. We are working on raising money for our travel fund to come home next spring and to pay rent on our house here in Ghana. It is normal in Ghana to pay for 2 years of rent up front! As you can imagine, that is not a small amount of money. The other variable is that often the rent price will go up every couple of years, but you don’t know what they will be until the negotiations begin.

4. We have had one church already raise $3200 for our travel fund! We are so thankful for their generosity and pray that God will continue to provide. Anna’s parents are coming for a visit in September and we have made the decision to send our oldest son, Aidan, back to the US with them. He has missed out on some milestone events by being here in Ghana with us the past two years and so we want him to accomplish a few things before he goes off to college next fall. Pray for his transition back to the US, life for us here is so different and it has become our new normal, pray for him to find a good job and get prepared to head off to college next fall.

You are always welcome to email encouragement to JARED and ww.missionresource.org
