News You Might Have Missed

Steve is busier than ever. The mission’s work to "Teach, Train, and Equip" is made possible by support from congregations and individuals like you.

"I returned from furlough in mid-Sept 2017 and was immediately besieged with requests for classes. Aside from a short summer break in December, the classes run Tues/Thursday in various parts of the city. Surprisingly, a small group of evangelical Catholics have asked me to teach on Monday evenings and I have an invitation to lead a weekday evening service! Two of the regular CBS classes are conducted in Congolese church groups, one of them having to translate into French and the other well versed already in English." – Steve Zimmerman

The Dean of the Theological Department at Stellenbosch

The Dean of the Theological Department at Stellenbosch University, Prof Jurgens Hendricks, has asked for copies of my book, ‘My Brother Philemon’, for his select leadership team. He has provided an excellent review and is interested in more teaching! I also provided a box of brand new NIV Bibles for them. This is an excellent contact because Jurgens invites Christian leaders from all over Africa to visit the university.

Heather Burton to serve in South Africa

Heather Burton has worked with inner city missions in the United States and has been on staff at First Christian Church – Springfield, Ohio. Last year she met Steve at Lake James Christian Camp in Angola, IN while he was on furlough.

On Steve’s invitation and having met the Board of Directors she visited Steve to see where God may be leading. After an excellent short term mission to Cape Town she returned and began to raise funds. Heather has successfully raised enough support and the Board of Directors accepted Heather as a full time missionary of the South African Christian Mission.

Sea Container of Bibles On Their Way

Mission accomplished: Praise the Lord. We still have enough Bibles to fill 2 more containers. Thanks to Bob and Dave spearheading the team and to each of the volunteers who helped make it possible. They the hottest heat of the summer this past Saturday.

Another container is scheduled to be loaded in August!

We have posted one short video with Steve talking about who the mission is in need of – partnerships. Feel free to use it for your small group or congregation.
