Joined together in hopes of peace.

Taban Deng Gai said on Monday that the political opposition Sudan People’s Liberation Movement In Opposition (SPLM-IO) had dissolved and joined the ranks of the SPLM party. They are hoping that this will strengthen the position of the government of President Salva Kiir, since there is still many opposition groups fighting the government. The next peace talk is to take place on May 17th in Ethiopia. (photo above by Al Jazeera)
Also, yesterday leaders of Ethiopia and Kenya vowed to pursue peace in South Sudan. On South Sudan, an official statement read: "The two leaders expressed their deep disappointment at the slow pace of progress in ongoing efforts to restore peace in South Sudan. In pledging their full commitment to urged the leaders of South Sudan to place the interests of their people above their own in order to give peace a chance.”

Pray this will bring peace. That families can return home and healing will start.

Thank you to those who took part in Light the Fire. We praise God for the answered prayers and the encouragement that came from the prayers.
