Greetings, faithful partners.

Here’s a quick update:

Mike:

· As we mentioned in our previous update, Mike has turned over leadership of the Akukem language project to our coworker Norm. He is now developing materials to share with others the knowledge of the Akukem language that he has gained over the years.

· He continues providing Paratext assistance to our teammates in Papua New Guinea. He is also part of a team that is developing standardized checklists that will benefit our teammates all around the world as they use Paratext to translate the life-transforming Word into more languages.

· The focus of his work to enable our teammates to put literacy materials into Paratext (to help assure spelling consistency) is shifting from development to enabling our publications team to use and maintain the materials.

Eunice:

· The newest issue of Pioneer Bible Translators’ corporate newsletter Latest Words is on its way to donors’ mailboxes, and now Eunice is working on articles for the fall edition of The Latest Word magazine. Please pray for hers work, that each article will be edited exactly as needed to tell the stories of the people we serve

· In about a month two summer interns will head to Papua New Guinea. These interns are making half of their luggage allowance available to transport items purchased by the missionaries on the field. (This is a huge gift because international postage is very expensive.) Eunice volunteered to be the person to receive all the PNG-bound “cargo,” verify the accuracy of each shipment, and repackage everything for safe travel. What kinds of things has she packed? A solar water pump, a Star Wars cookbook, kid Kindles, underwear, home perms, a two-way radio, a tracing wheel, and a few DVDs. And most important: 300 SD cards onto which audio Scripture in the Mum and Apal languages will be copied so that people can listen to God’s Word on small, inexpensive cell phones.

Both of us:

· Our trip to Texas Hill Country to celebrate our 40th anniversary was wonderful! Thanks for praying!

· We hit the ground running when we returned, hosting teammate Norm the day after we got home, followed by Mike’s sister Miriam and her husband Myron. Josh will pop in on us soon, and at the end of the month teammate Phil arrives for two weeks.

· We will both help a bit with pre-field orientation for the PNG-bound interns later this month. Pray that we’ll bless them as we help them prepare for their experiences there.

Family update:

· Matthew is gearing up for his church’s summer musical Alice in Wonderland. Pray that God will open up viable job options for him to begin work in July after the musical concludes.

· Josh is preparing to move to Moab, Utah, where he and a friend plan to establish a hostel near Arches National Park and other scenic wonders. Pray for wisdom in the many decisions they’ll be making, and pray for his peace.

· Karissa continues to enjoy serving as Assistant Director of both Church Relations and the Doctor of Ministry program at Abilene Christian University. As we write this she is in Australia for a week on school business.
