The Jersey City Project – July News From Orchard Group
Lawrence Adjah describes himself as an “untraditional church planter.” He is a graduate of Harvard, Stanford, and the University of Texas, a successful entrepreneur, and son of Nigerian immigrants. Yet the experience of the launch and growth of Renaissance Church in Harlem affected Lawrence deeply. He began to consider how leading a new church could reach the growing population in Jersey City, New Jersey with the gospel.
Jersey City is the fastest growing urban area in New Jersey, home to a nearly equal percentage of Asian, black, white, and Hispanic individuals. Its proximity to Manhattan makes Jersey City an attractive place for young professionals. The population growth in the creates an opportunity for the gospel! Lawrence Adjah plans to start a new church there in the fall of 2019.
