A Dream Come True…
A Bible Institute

After several years in the making, the day has finally arrived!  EDCM now is offering college level bible and leadership classes in order to better equip and empower the national leaders to make disciples of Jesus Christ.  We have partnered with “El Centro de Entrenamiento para Lideres (The Center of Leadership Training)”, a ministry of the Christian Church mission Disciple Makers (www.disciplemakers.org) in order to offer the higher education classes.
EDCM will equip the national leaders in three main areas through online classes as well as live workshops during a two year period.
The Head (El Conocer):
Each student will study five college level Bible classes such as Hermeneutics, Homiletics, New Testament Survey, Old Testament Survey, The Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ.  These classes will be held online in a classroom setting using modern technology.
The Heart (El Ser):
Each student will participate in a minimum of 12 live workshops led by different Christian leaders, American and Dominican.  This section will focus on the heart of a pastor, spiritual disciplines of a pastor, how to maintain a healthy marriage while in ministry and other spiritual matters that pastors are confronted with on a daily basis.
The Hands (El Hacer):
This portion of the Institute will be taught through live workshops and will focus on the practical side of ministry.  These practical workshops will include topics such as How do plan and organize a worship service, How to handle finances (personal and ministerial), How to use your Spiritual Gifts and Christian Leadership 101.
Orientation for the Bible Institute was held on January 6th in Higuey, Dominican Republic where each student received their Institute laptop, Logos Bible Software, a new Study Bible and all the information needed to begin studying God’s Word in a deep and profound way.  Weekly online classes began on Monday, February 19thwith the first live workshop scheduled for Saturday, March 3rd.
The cost of the Bible Institute is $1,000 per student for the entirety of the two year program.  This cost covers all expenses such as laptop, Logos Bible Software, digital books, printed books, workshop costs as well as other costs such as upgraded internet.  While each student is responsible for a $100 registration fee, EDCM is currently raising funds to help sponsor a bible institute student.  If you (or your congregation) would like more information on sponsoring a student, please contact Ryan VandeLinde at ryanvandelinde@hotmail.com.

Women Leading the Way
Several dozen women from our different church plants gathered together on February 10th to study God’s Word and grow deeper spiritually.  This was a joint effort led by several of the main female leaders of EDCM.  This one day retreat was designed to bring unity amongst the women that attend our different church plants as well as lead women in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  Great job ladies!

Short-term Missions

EDCM  hosted a short-term mission trip from February 18-25th that primarily focused on the medical and spiritual needs of the neighborhood Brisas del Mar.  Brisas del Mar is where our Medical Outreach is located and this fantastic team from Greenville, SC arrived ready to rumble!  They brought much needed vitamins, medicines and other supplies that they used during the week to help heal the sick.  Our very own Dr. Euri Cordero was on-site each day partnering with the American team and preaching the Gospel through medicine.  Great job everybody!

A “RL” Baby
Welcome baby Escarlen Luis!

One of EDCM’s own, Mr. Ricardo Luis, and his wife Marlen, welcomed their first child on January 13th.  As Ricardo and Marlen are professional Christian singing artists, it was fitting that Ricardo welcomed his daughter to the world with a recorded rap song entitled “Cómo Será” or “What will you be like?” Ricardo and Marlen are proud parents and are doing very well. Congratulations Ricardo and Marlen.  Welcome Escarlen!
