THE NEXT GEN OF MEDICAL EVANGELISTS

Beatrice Wambui-Kenya

Letícia Araújo Duarte, Brazil

One of the sustainable projects we have at FAME is our Impact Scholarship program.  This program helps bright, Christian young people who are pursuing a medical education with the funding needed for their schooling.  These students must be from developing nations and be recommended by one of our partner missions.

In December of last year, we added 2 new scholarship recipients. Beatrice Wambui is
sponsored by Life in Abundance in Kenya, and Leticia Duarte is sponsored by Central Brazil Mission. This brings the number of FAME scholarship recipients up to 9.

Below are a few thank you notes recently received from some of our scholarship recipients.

“Praise Jesus we serve a big God Romans 5:18. The Lord has answered my prayers. All glory and honor back to Him. I am very grateful for your positive response. You’ve helped a girl from a humble family from the village achieve her dream of becoming a doctor in the near future.”-Beatrice Wambui, Kenya

“Thank you very much brothers and sisters for your kindness with all of us beneficiaries of this scholarship ministry, I bless the life of each of you that make this mission possible, may the Lord keep you always, thank you.” – Dayani Avila Marquez, Honduras

“Thank you very much for your support, I cover you with the blood of Christ so that it is He who will guide you and take care of you and give you wisdom if you lack and provide everything you need.” – Genesis Valladares Zeron, Honduras

“I am so grateful and thankful for your support both financially and in prayer. Thank you for allowing me to be the hands and feet of the Lord in El Catey” -Leslie Valenzuela, Dominican Republic

REACHING THE LOST IN THE PHILIPPINES

Just a few miles from the 4th largest Shopping Mall in all of Asia in a Manila, Philippines suburb there are 600,000 people living on standing water. It is free housing, but if you have no address you have no medical care. Our partner, CRAM Worldwide (Christ Reaching Asia Mission), has planted 5 churches among these dear people who need the love of the Lord. CRAM Worldwide is the ministry of Dr. C.Y. and Patricia Kim who serve in southeast Asia. They have implemented many programs to bring help and hope to these families, but one need they see is medical care.

FAME has agreed to partner with CRAM to purchase a vehicle that can be converted to a mobile clinic. By having a mobile clinic they will be able to drive to different areas where they currently do ministry and these 5 churches. These 5 churches are in the Bacoor City area with over 1000 in
weekly attendance. Those in attendance are the poorest of the poor and typically young and malnourished.

This Mobile Clinic will be overseen by Dr. Sang Ho and Lisa Kim. Dr. Sang Ho Kim says:

“As we provide for their medical care, the people will see that Christians care about them. Through the mobile clinic, we will be able to provide information about and promote the 5 churches we have planted. Since the Philippines is free religiously, our workers will be able to counsel and pray with those who come to the clinic for assistance.”

DESTINATION MASHOKO-ZIMBABWE

Next month FAME will be shipping a 40′ container of much needed medical supplies to Mashoko Christian Hospital (MCH) in Zimbabwe. Mashoko is over 5 hours from Harare and means, “the word.” Mashoko Christian Hospital plays a big role in the history of FAME. Dr. Dennis Pruett together with Dr. David Grubbs birthed the idea of starting a medical mission ministry while serving at Mashoko. In 1970, those two men later founded the Fellowship of Associates of Medical Evangelism (FAME) in Columbus, Indiana. In the years since, FAME has partnered with Mashoko Christian Hospital to build other medical facilities, train health care professionals, ship medical supplies and equipment, and mobilize short-term medical mission teams.

Dr. Zindoga and Dinag Bungu

Today under the direction of Dr. Zindoga Bungu, the Mashoko Christian Hospital continues to serve the people of the Hippo Valley. Since 1958, Mashoko Christian Hospital has helped to start other clinics and hospitals in Zimbabwe. It is their aim “to provide the best health care possible to those who enter our doors so that in the end, they see Jesus’ compassion in us and praise God.”

Some of the items that will be shipped on this upcoming container include 2 ultrasound machines, a birthing bed, gurneys and gloves.

Thank you to all our donors who helped provide funding for this container, and thank you for your continued prayers that these much needed supplies will bring help and hope to the people of Zimbabwe.
