Dear Friend,

What a wonderful year this has been, and it is not even over yet! As President Abraham Lincoln said in his 1863 proclamation,

“The year that is drawing towards its close has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. “

We know that you are not “habitually insensible” to God, because your love for God and His people is evident from the way you have provided for their needs.

Your love gifts, large and small, have enabled so many wonderful things to happen! Here is an abbreviated list of some of the many projects that your gifts have enabled so far this year, in 2017. Keep in mind that some of these projects are ongoing, some are almost finished, and some were one-time events:

  • Khongsai Family travel expenses to the USA, while in the USA, and back to Myanmar
  • Tenth Anniversary Ministry Dinner
  • Sugar Cane Mill for East/West Garden
  • Tiling and Repairs for Hope Boarding School
  • Church Building Construction – Valpabung South Christian Church
  • Church Building Construction – Lallim Christian Church
  • Fire Victims Rebuilding in Sipeh Village – Seven New Houses**
  • Seven New Wells**
  • New Tractor for East/West Garden
  • New Truck for Hope Preschool and East/West Garden

  • New Well for Bokkan High School
  • New Electrical Meters for Hope Boarding School
  • Structural Repairs for Hope Boarding School – Boys’ Dorm
  • East/West Garden Expansion – More Acres (there are now a total of 18 acres being cultivated, with several acres set aside for homes, outbuildings, wells, etc.)
  • More Crops for East/West Garden: Kidney Beans, Banana Trees, Mango Trees, Lemon Trees, Mustard Leaf, Rice
  • More Piglets for the Piglets Project
  • Four Cows for the East/West Garden
  • Several Emergency Medical Requests
  • One Hundred New Blankets for the Elderly
*  – This list doesn’t include our ongoing projects: Hope Boarding School student sponsorships, Pastor Support, Family Support, Disabled Support, and Hope Preschool support.

** – These projects were made possible because of grants from International Disaster Emergency Services (IDES).

And, of course, our partnership with Christian Horizons for the New Pathway Home for the Elderly in Tamu.

The construction of the elderly home should be complete in December, and the six widows who have been chosen to be the first residents will move in after the building is ready.

NONE OF THE ABOVE WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT YOU!
Thank you for taking the time to read this email. You are the reason that Myanmar Hope is able to work so effectively and to bear such good fruit for the Kingdom of God. And that fruit will be counted as YOURS when you stand in front of God’s Throne to receive your heavenly rewards!

One of my favorite proverbs is from Proverbs 19:17, which says,

“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will He pay him again.”

God bless you and yours on this wonderful Thanksgiving Day.
