Dear Friends and Supporters

Christian Leadership Training Institute – Ghana

Afrifa Konadu, the new supervisor for Theological Education by Extension (TEE) in northern Ghana, took control of a new 4X4 crewcab pickup. We thank God and our supporters for making this possible. The pickup will enable him to travel to churches in the north that can benefit from the leadership development program of the Institute.

Afrifa will move his family into a rented house in Tamale, Ghana. We will soon start construction of a house and office for the work of the Institute in northern Ghana on land in Tamale. Godfred Mintah will supervise TEE in southern Ghana.

Afrifa will begin by visiting churches to tell them about the extension training program. This could take two or three months since there are many churches in the north that have not used the program to train their leaders. He will encourage church leaders to use the three-step extension training to develop their leadership and start more churches.

The three-step method requires home study, weekly discussion meetings and practical assignments. Godfred Mintah and Afrifa will hold a four-day seminar in Tamale to train those who will conduct the extension classes. It is our goal to have new TEE classes going by May of 2018. The need and the opportunities are great.

Faith Way Global Outreach – Nigeria

The annual national conference was held November 10-12. During the conference, church leaders were ordained and a graduation ceremony was conducted for students of the Cross River Bible College.

A new congregation was started on October 15 at Kepeti in the Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State. Twelve were baptized.

International Conference On Missions (ICOM)

Ed Nichols, retired missionary and Jay Allee, friends of Sunday Obeten in Nigeria

The ICOM was held at Peoria, Illinois on November 16-19. Enoch Nyador, Director of Ghana Christian Mission, was president of the ICOM. The speakers came from around the world. The most rewarding parts for me were the visits with friends from around the world and the networking with other missions. I made new contacts to share our three-step leadership development program (TEE). I met briefly with Paul Wilson working in the Philippines and with Jaime Castro of Mexico Christian University who are using our TEE program. This is a ministry which we call Grassroots Leadership Development

THREE IMPORTANT PROJECTS FOR 2018

1. Complete the construction of a nursery school in Calabar, Nigeria. This is an outreach program of the Calabar Christian Church to provide Christian education to the community and to win more souls for the Kingdom. Over $20,000 has been raised for the construction. The cement block walls and concrete roof of the building are finished. $30,000 is needed to plaster the walls, install doors and windows, furnish the building and provide books, equipment, etc. The school will be self-supporting once it is started.

2. Build a starter building for the new church in Kintampo, Ghana. The town is a district capital on an important highway. The property is near the highway in a strategic location. $30,000 is needed to build the starter building. When the membership fills the building, it will be large enough to pay for the expansion of its building.

3. Construct a house and office for the Supervisor of TEE in northern Ghana. Rent is high in Tamale, the fastest growing city in the country. Thanks to a generous donation, land was purchased last year. That land is already worth 50% more than we paid for it. $30,000 is needed to start the construction in 2018. The Lord willing, we will finish the construction before November 2019 when the lease is up on a rented house being used by the new Supervisor.
