Dear Friends and Family

Just a quick email to let you know what has been happening with Aletheia.

Daycare Ministries:

Recently Michael Calamia from A World Aware donated three Bible story sets comprising of a story book, as well as two felt boards with numerous figures and backgrounds. One of the sets was handed over to Dudu from Motswedi Daycare Centre, and the second set is for Gladys to use at her feeding project in Limpopo. We will be taking it up to Gladys on our next trip, which will be in early June. The third set Morné has been using to tell Bible stories to the children at the various daycare centres every Wednesday. We have started from the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, and are working our way through the old Testament. It is a brilliant way to spread the gospel to the children, especially being able to use the visuals which makes it easier for them to understand. Thank you Michael.

Special Outings:

Aletheia has been working in conjunction with the PDSA (People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals) for the past three years, and in March and April, we took children from Siyathuthuka and Motswedi daycare centres to the PDSA for an educational outing on how to care for your pets. These children very rarely see animals other than dogs and cats, so for them to see horses, geese and tortoises, was very special indeed. The children really enjoyed their morning out and were especially delighted with the snacks of cooldrink, chips and sweets to round out the visit.

Prayer and Praise:

Aletheia has been renting premises for the past twelve years, and after much prayer and consideration, we feel it is time for us to find a permanent home. For the past couple of months, we have been looking at buying a property which will accommodate our needs. Due to the fact that Aletheia is a non profit organisation, banks are very wary of approving any bond applications. Please pray with us that we will be able to find the right property at the right time, for the right price, and that our bond application will be successful.

Our dear friend, Sally, who volunteers to do crafts with Mom Batha’s kids every Thursday, fell and broke her arm quite badly a few weeks ago. She will still be out of action for about three more weeks. Mom Batha, the teachers and the children are really missing her! Pray for her complete and quick healing.

Thank you so much to everyone who supports us in various ways. Your support is invaluable to us. We praise God for the way we see Him working in the lives of the children we love and care for. We ask that you continue to keep myself, Morné, Getty, as well as all the children and teachers from the various daycare centres in your prayers. We continue to see spiritual battles in the areas in which we are spreading the gospel and love of Jesus.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:12-17

In Him,
