Chinese To Christ Ministry (C2C)
IBCC China – Wing Wong

  • The week before Easter Sunday the police came to our little chapel in a small town in Guangzhou. They took everything that they saw including chairs, hymnbooks and Bibles. At the time our evangelist and his wife had just left the building after worship service. It has been more than two weeks but we didn’t hear from the authorities until yesterday. Our evangelist was summoned for questioning by police order on this coming Sunday. Please remember him and our ministry in that area. For the past two weeks, our Christians continue to meet. Pray that the name of the Lord will be glorified!
  • LATM had helped us to print another thousand copies of Wing’s book on Philippians in China. Now our coworkers in China are “smuggling” the books out of China and distributing them in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Pray for “safe-passage.”
  •  Our missionary Jing Qian and his family are now in Guizhou. Ask the Lord to provide them with a good size apartment in a central location where they can start reaching out to young adult Puyi families.
  •  May is a busy month for setting up summer evangelistic activities in China. This year we will have two camps and one or two weeks of evangelistic trips. Pray that the Lord will help us find a “safe” campsite and more Christian teachers!
  • Our CSN4C (Cross Space Networks For Christ) ministry is seriously thinking to start a virtual church in the Internet world next year to share the Gospel with Chinese speaking people around the world. Please pray that we can recruit many Christian volunteers to help run the operation!
  • Person of the month: Silas, his wife Sister Chung and their 12-year-old son Zi Rong. Silas has been working with us as an evangelist and church planter in the Guangzhou area since 1994. He started as the manager for our Bible and Ministry Training Center in his village. He and his wife helped us plant 4 churches in the nearby communities despite the constant hardship and struggling with the government authorities and the non-believing villagers. Their home and churches had been searched and ransacked by the police several times. However, by God’s grace and protection, he had never been arrested. One time he escaped from the back door when the police came through the front gate. One time, he missed the train so he couldn’t get home as scheduled when the police were waiting for him in his house. We were able to warn him of the situation, including that his house phone was tapped. Recently, the police confiscated everything they could find in the church. Silas just got a police order that he will need to present himself in the police station this Sunday for questioning. Please pray that Silas will be filled with the Holy Spirit and can speak the truth boldly with God-given wisdom! May God be glorified! May His people be filled with joy!

  • Please pray for sister Kun Han. Her father passed away in China not long ago. Please pray that God will comfort her and use this experience to strengthen her faith.

New Life Cambodian Christian Church
Rinn Sim – Lowell, MA

  • Sophal participated in a Bible study group that grew into New Life Christian Church. Recently, he married Thea, a new Christian. They stopped by the Sims’ home to share the joy of the new marriage. In the conversation, Thea expressed that while she waited for her work permits to be issued she would like to serve in the church. They would like to join a Bible study group too to grow in Christ as a couple. Thank God for this couple, their commitment to Jesus, and the encouragement they bring to Rinn and the church. Pray that others will follow their example.

  • Sandy regularly attends New Life and is recovering from an injury. She enjoys popularity and good favor with a number of people. Many of her friends know of her physical struggles, but she wants God to use her patience and courage in recovery as a conversation-starter for Jesus and a witness to her friends.

  • Please pray for the Cambodian people who struggle to trust others that life situations will cause them to listen to those seeking to share faith in Jesus. Ask God to lead people who are spiritually hungry into a conversation and relationship with Christ followers.

  • Thank God for better weather which allows Rinn and Nong to go more regularly outside to local parks and gathering places to connect with the unchurched in Lowell. They pray God will give them opportunities for many, meaningful conversation with the people they meet and wisdom in how to best share Jesus. Also, ask God to encourage others in the church to follow their example.

  • Please pray that God will raise up and send out workers from among our Cambodian leaders to reach others for Jesus. Also, pray that God will send teams of people to assist us in our outreach efforts.

Oasis Christian Church Liberian
Christic Marblow & Peter Sarmie – Providence, RI

  • Thank God for the renewed spirit and desire for outreach in the church. After a successful weekend of special teaching and preaching which brought about 45 people a night, the church has set an ambitious goal of 100 attenders by Christmas.
  • Pray for a first-floor space to which the church could move for worship. The current space is only zoned for 50 people.
  • Ask God’s comfort for Melanie Marblow whose aunt died unexpectedly on the Ivory Coast. Melanie loved this dear woman as a second mother, but because of the distance will not be able to attend the services or be present to comfort her mother.
  • Thank God for Margrett Sarmie, wife of one of the ministers, who has accepted the call to lead the women’s ministry of the church. Pray that God will bless her efforts and raise up someone to lead the men’s group.
  • hank God for Tony Reeves who has accepted the call to lead the tech ministry of the church. He made a DVD of the recent revival to share with church members.
