JANUARY NEWSLETTER

RESTORE is moving into 2017 with excitement about how God is working through us to help people find and follow Jesus in Quincy, MA. People are discovering God’s grace and lives are being changed (6 baptisms since launch). We see steps of faith being taken, relationships being built (5 home groups), and generous hearts beginning to grow.

In December we announced two new partnerships with organizations that are doing great work- one here in Quincy (The Sanger Center), and the other globally (Lifeline Christian Mission). RESTORE will support these ministries financially, but we chose each specifically because of the opportunity to serve arm in arm with them as well.

-Partnering with the Sanger Center makes a lot of sense for us. We’ve been serving with them since our 2015 launch. This ministry delivers food/groceries to people in the community who are in need, many of whom cannot leave their homes. They are touching many lives and our people at RESTORE have enjoyed the chance to serve alongside them.

-Lifeline Christian Mission is a ministry that began in Haiti and has expanded to additional Caribbean nations. They share the Good News of Christ in a multitude of ways (starting churches, schools and orphanages, and by meeting the physical needs of the community through food/nutrition programs & medical care). RESTORE will have an opportunity to sponsor children who will then receive food and education. In addition we’ll have the opportunity to take work trips and serve the needs of Lifeline in person.

We’re looking forward to partnering with these ministries in 2017 and beyond.

Right before Christmas we had the opportunity to work with our new ministry partner-The Sanger Center. Through this great ministry, we were given Christmas gift requests from families in need. Over 40 children received Christmas gifts because of the generosity of our congregation! Then, a week before Christmas, a group of volunteers braved a snow storm to deliver food and toys to families in need.

On Christmas Eve we opened our doors for a special evening service. We concluded our Advent series by celebrating the arrival of Light into our world- the birth of Jesus. The story of how God chose to enter our world never gets old, and our people at RESTORE were glad to sing songs of praise, hear the Christmas story, and consider how God’s love changes our hearts as we respond to Him in faith. It was a wonderful evening of worship and we were joined by many guests and visitors.

Earlier in December, we had the opportunity to share a story of life change with our church. Cathylee has been coming to Restore for the last year, and the impact that Christ has made in her life is very evident. We know that you’ll be encouraged by her story. Watch her video at the link below.

Here are some upcoming things to be praying about:

Groups – We’re launching a new season of Home Groups next week! Over the next nine weeks we’ll be studying the book of Ephesians in homes throughout Quincy. This is a great time for those who have been coming to Restore to connect with others on a deeper level. We’re praying for those who are exploring their faith and may join a group for the first time. We’re excited to see how God uses this time together to help us grow in our understanding of His word and our relationship with Him.

Restore Kids – We’re praising God for the steady growth we’ve seen over the past few months. Join us in praying for these students who participate each week and the leaders that continually invest into their lives! Let’s also pray that God continues to send families who are ready to explore faith and introduce their kids to Christ.

Volunteer Teams – As summer approaches we’re gearing up to host groups from all over the country to serve with us. These groups enable us to do even more in our city as we have the volunteers needed to pull off great outreach events. Join us in praying for those who will be coming to serve with us. We also pray that God goes before us, preparing people in our communities to hear the message of God’s grace through our love and care for them.

THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE WAYS YOU SUPPORT US!!!
