Dear Reggie,

As we close 2016, we’re excited to share news of the Lord’s blessings upon the people served by BUV – Basic Utility Vehicle. And we wish you and yours a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!

BUV Tanzania Goes Big

Check out this brand new video that beautifully tells the story of BUV Tanzania — which was also featured on the blog of international movement 24-7 Prayer as “Africa’s Antipoverty Machine.” BUV Tanzania is learning how to sell a quality product in an ultra price-sensitive environment. Since no financing is available, we want to create a way for local Tanzanians to buy their own BUV over time.

As the Africans pay off their vehicles, those funds will be used to buy more vehicles — and the cycle repeats itself. So far, we have $22,000 set aside in a revolving loan fund to help with financing and aim to triple its size.

We need your help to add $40,000 to the loan fund by Feb 15. This provides loans for 11 BUVswe expect to have a larger funding source for Spring 2017.

Teaming up with Sagamore
Our founder, Will Austin, was selected as a Senior Fellow for the Sagamore Institute … a powerful association since Sagamore has become increasingly active in enterprise solutions in Africa. Together, Sagamore and IAT are working to provide equipment financing solutions in Africa (which is essentially non-existent for African entrepreneurs). Financing allows small-holder farmers and entrepreneurs to bring low levels of mechanization to their business…which increases food security and rural incomes.

African entrepreneurs can afford to buy quality machinery such as the BUV if they pay for it over time. Thankfully, the African drivers are hard workers and have established a strong track record of weekly payments. Sagamore brings a network of high-level financial executives to help overcome obstacles and create a structured plan.

Big changes for BUV in 2017
We’re excited to share three initiatives for 2017:
  • We have a new transmission (the BUV now has REVERSE!!)
  • We will offer financing (where no vehicle financing exists)
  • We will lower the cost of the BUV by direct-sourcing many components from Asia.

These are huge answers to prayer, and couldn’t be accomplished without the faithful contributions of our donors, partners and prayer warriors.

Thank You

The BUV is a vehicle that delivers dignity, hope and pride. We hope you will support the BUV right now. Please make your year-end donation to help us provide access to people who need it most.

Merry Christmas!
