One month ago, Hurricane Matthew ripped through southwestern Haiti, leaving behind destroyed homes, flooded villages, flattened crops, and uprooted trees. Although Lifeline’s main campus at Grand Goave suffered little damage, our outlying schools and churches were severely damaged and many families lost their homes.
Our first relief team journeyed to Torbeck, our southernmost church and school community. Although there was much work to do, there were many instances where they were overwhelmed by the loss.
