Dear CRAM family members,

Please be in prayer for me.

Last Friday I began to have a lot of pain especially in my stomach.  Since then I have had good days and bad days, and have not been able to eat well, but my stomach has continued to bother me.

I have a very busy schedule these days, but the stomach pain has begun a cycle and it comes for a few hours at a time.

Early this morning I began to have a lot of pain again.  After the morning schedule attending the dedication of the Korean Baptist Medical Mission Center (amen!), I went to the Korean hospital to have some testing done.   The blood test showed some poor results, especially concerning my red blood cell count and some problems with my kidney.    The doctor told me that the Philippino hospitals are not very good for this, it is very hard and not a good situation.  He highly recommended me to go back to Korea to have further testing on my kidneys and the necessary follow through treatment and or surgery, etc.   He thinks that I may have a similar problem as my wife Lisa, that there may be kidney stones, but he is not sure.  He thinks I need to have this checked out.  I feel that I have very poor health at the moment.

For about 6 months we had very very hot weather and I was working hard to build our 2 churches and it has taken a physical toll on me.

Now we have a busy schedule for the next month and I have some important work to take care of in November.  Now I am thinking about and praying about this situation.  After I look at the schedule and pray about it I will decide when I can go back to Korea, possibly late November.  Please be praying about this as well!

I already have an appointment in November to go back to Korea for dental needs, so I will try to work it out that I can go one time and take care of everything in the same trip.

Thank you for your continued prayers for Lisa, she is doing much better and will be returning to the Philippines next week.

Please also be in prayer about Lauren’s visa.  The timing is not coming together and we need to do the interview asap but the schedule keeps getting delayed (Philippino style), and now we are starting to get a little worried.

Prayer also for the rice donation and the container delivery, God’s grace over the whole situation and process.

To put it mildly, working in the Bacoor slum area is not easy but it is clear that God’s eyes are focused on his people here. We are so thankful that so many people are coming together each week to worship and are seeing many born again Christians.  It is a huge blessing to feel and see God’s love in this place and among these people and the reward for hard work is great; we are filled with Joy to be a part of his work here.

Thank you again for all your prayers.  I ask you to continue to be in prayer about our team here in Bacoor and specifically for my and my wife’s health.

Thank you and God bless,

P.S. Last week I went with some of my team members to visit an area in Las Pinas where I have been before.  It is a very difficult area, I have gone previously to give rice and other aid as was possible.  You have probably seen some pictures on facebook from the charcoal collecting neighborgood.  They work the entire day in poor conditions digging through charcoal for about $5 pay for the entire day’s work.  We stopped by the other day to give bread and a box of rice and talk with some of the children and their families.  I found two families:  1 family has 7 children and no husband (suicide last year), the other family the parents are working together in the charcoal area and have at least 4 children.  Before Patricia Kim wanted to support 2 children from this area.

Now I have pictures and information that can be sent along.
