GLOBALSCOPE campus ministers from around the world gathered in Puebla, Mexico, in late July for their annual Celebration event.

Celebration!

Annual event draws 92 to Mexico for worship, study and fellowship

Globalscope team members had a lot to cheer about at the ministry’s recent Celebration event in late July in Puebla, Mexico, and some of it involved the number 12!

“This year was our 12th Celebration, and we enjoyed it with 12 different teams, three of which will open their ministries within the next year,” said Whitney Turner, Globalscope’s Assistant Director. “The members of our newest teams in Freiburg, Germany; Nottingham, England; and Australia were with us at this year’s Celebration for the first time!”  Read More

‘Look how far we’ve come!’

La Ruta enjoys amazing first semester

The La Ruta campus ministry in Montevideo, Uruguay, wrapped up its first semester as a campus ministry recently and has lots of good news to share!

“We’ve grown from 17 students at our first English practice to more than 75 students who have participated in events during the semester,” said campus minister Carmie Cuda. “More than 80 percent (62) of those students have come back more than once to begin forming the community that we dream of.

“In addition, 22 of those students attend La Merienda, where we share stories of Jesus and converse about how we can connect with the themes of those stories as people from different backgrounds and beliefs,” added Carmie.

The team is filled with awe and gratitude for such a great kick-off to their ministry.

“Thanks to our partners for believing in our dream to share God’s love with Uruguayan college students,” said Carmie. “It’s an honor to be part of what God’s doing here in Montevideo, and exciting to think that we’re only just beginning!”

Unconventional

Campus ministry is not a typical 9 to 5 job

Lydia Wilson knows she has an unconventional job, not your typical 9 to 5. As a Globalscope campus minister in Salamanca, Spain, she works with people, focusing on Kingdom things, like loving unconditionally. A lot of people don’t understand what she does, so she really appreciates the unconventional partners who support her ministry, those who understand that Jesus had a pretty unconventional job, too!  Read More
