PRAYER

POINTES

SEP 2016

Pray for Michelle and Mary who were both baptized on Sunday!  It is so amazing to see the joy that they have found in the Lord.  Pray that their faith remains strong as they face difficulties in the coming weeks and months.

On October 16th, RESTORE is having a day of celebration.  This will be a special Sunday and we will be inviting a lot of people from the community.  Please pray that God will lead us as we make preparations for this day.  Pray that people will respond to invitations and that this will be the start of them finding hope in Jesus.

Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) is a liberal arts school in Quincy.  Recently, we did some events on campus to meet students and introduce them to our church.  The majority of the students there do not know Jesus or go to a church.  Pray that God will open more doors for us to minister to the students at ENC.

NorthPointe Christian Church

Please pray for Jessica. Jessica is a single mother who just started coming to NorthPointe a couple weeks back. She is just coming back to church for the first time in a while, and has been bringing her son with her and is very concerned about him having a foundation in Christ. We thank God for that desire that has brought her back to church and brought her son to church for the first time. We pray for the continued growth of her relationship with God and pray that they find a home at NorthPointe.

Please pray for Justin. Justin is a student that has been coming to the student ministry for a little while now, and has really started to take his faith seriously. Right now he’s thinking about getting baptized and has the potential to be a great leader. Please pray that he continues to trust God as his faith requires him to give up more and more of his life.

Please pray for Paul. Paul is someone who also has leadership potential. He’s someone who hasn’t been too involved at NorthPointe, but recently has had a change of heart and really feels like God is calling him to be more of a servant. Since then he’s decided to be a mentor in the student ministry. Please pray that Paul continues to trust God as continues to make to take on the role of a servant. Also please pray for Paul and his family as they are trying to adopt. The process has been lengthy and drawn out for them, and we pray that they’ll have a new member of their family soon.

SouthPointe Christian Church

We have several marriages and young families under attack. Some of the issues involved have very deep roots. Pray for wisdom in leadership, guidance toward the right path of pastoral care for each of them, for God to reconcile spouses, and for forgiveness and healing to happen.

SouthPointe has been mobile for almost 5 years. We believe that God is calling us to look for 24/7 space, as our equipment and volunteers are wearing out. We also believe that 24/7 could potentially save us money compared to what we are paying to rent the movie theater and office space. Pray for God to guide us, for His financial providence, for SouthPointe to maintain (and even grow in) our outward focus, and for God to continue to open doors in the right community.

We are also seeking out a full-time staff member in the area of worship arts. Our hope is that we will find someone who is gifted at cultivating leadership in other people, who loves to build team camaraderie, and who is creative. Please join us in praying for God to call someone to SouthPointe.

OceanPointe Christian Church

Last Monday a home caught fire on our island with three children inside, and only two of them survived. The youngest, a seven-year-old boy, passed away not long after being rescued. One of the two girls who made it out safely is a former member of our junior high group at OceanPointe. She is still in the hospital recovering from excessive smoke inhalation, and we would like to ask that you join us in praying for her healing as well as the healing of the entire family as they navigate life without their son and brother. We pray specifically that they would come closer to Jesus because of this!

Please continue to pray with us for Maria, the grandmother of one of our faithful volunteers. She is currently undergoing both chemo and radiation to treat her stage 4 brain cancer. The treatments are confusing Maria and making her anxious, and we pray for God’s peace and miraculous healing in her life!

Our favorite Sunday barista Jada is still on the hunt for a new job! Please join us in praying that she receives God’s guidance and seeks His will in her next steps as she tries to decide whether to fulfill a lifelong dream of starting her own business. Please also pray for continued healing from her surgery.

We’ve seen a lot of change in our church family in the past couple months with the coming and going of families from the Naval War College in Newport. Please join us in praying for the families whom we’ve sent elsewhere and commissioned to serve the Lord in their next home in addition to the new families God has entrusted to our church body. Another change to celebrate is the return of Kourtney Klendworth to our OceanPointe staff in a month! We request your prayers as she tries to raise support to work full-time at the church or to find a part-time job on the island that still allows her the freedom and flexibility to serve the church.

BridgePointe Christian Church

Mike came with his sister to BridgePointe for the first time on Sunday. It was the first time he attended a church service in over 60 years. He indicated that he enjoyed the experience and was excited to be able to understand the message and feel welcomed by the people. Please pray that Mike will continue to attend and will eventually place faith in Jesus and be baptized!

The Wyman family has been coming to BridgePointe for about 6 months. Now, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and a great-grandma are all coming to BridgePointe together. 3 people from their family have been baptized and we pray that more will be following soon. This Sunday was the first time the 99-year old great-grandmother worshiped with BridgePointe! Please pray that God continues to work in this family so that many more people know Jesus.

23 BridgePointe Groups launch this week. They will be filled with over 300 people who will be growing as disciples of Jesus in relationships. Please pray for group leaders to welcome new members, for people to grow in love for one another within their church, for conversation to produce discipleship, and for the Word of God to take root in the hearts and minds of the people of this church. Please also pray for God to raise up more leaders for the many who will eventually be ready to find their place in Groups in the church, too.
