Meet Daniel Overdorf

   Every year, the Eastern Christian Conference strives to bring the highest quality of speakers and leaders to encourage, challenge and instruct our attendees. In 2016 we have a great slate of speakers lined up, including Daniel Overdorf. We are grateful that he will be joining us in Hershey this November!

   Daniel Overdorf spent ten years ministering with churches in Illinois and Georgia before joining the faculty of Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2005, where he serves as Dean of the School of Congregational Ministry and Professor of Preaching.  He holds degrees from Johnson University, Lincoln Christian Seminary, and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.   
   Daniel and his wife Carrie recently celebrated twenty-one years of marriage; they have two sons and a daughter.  He has written four books, most recently One Year to Better Preaching: Fifty-Two Exercises to Hone Your Skills, and Rediscovering Community: What the Bible Says About the Church.  

   Dr. Overdorf will be a featured main speaker at the Eastern Christian Conference sharing his insights on living by and growing in the Fruit of the Spirit; he will also help to lead the pre-conference.

   This week a sister gathering, the North American Christian Convention, is meeting in Anaheim, California. It’s always great for Christians to gather and rally around the call of Christ! We’re hearing great things from that gathering! But it’s tough for many of us in the East to make that cross-country trek. That’s why a regional gathering like ours is so important. We can share ideas, discuss important topics, and partner together for more effective kingdom work when we make a point to gather together regularly. We hope you’re making plans RIGHT NOW to attend this years Eastern Christian Conference, November 11-13.
