Here are a few reasons to praise God since the last time we wrote:
· God gave us sweet reunions and rich fellowship with many of our teammates who were in Dallas last month for meetings.
· We celebrated Mike’s birthday late last month. Josh surprised his dad by arriving from Austin on Thursday, the 23rd, and Karissa added to the surprise by driving in from Abilene two days later. Both stayed until Monday afternoon. (We did miss Matthew, but we had a great time together despite his absence.)
· We put our house on the market and received an offer on it only eight days later. We had been praying that the house would continue to be a place of ministry to others. God answered by sending PBT teammates to buy it.
· Our teammates in Papua New Guinea are making visible progress toward completing New Testaments in three different languages (Waran, Mbore, and Apal).
Here are a few ways to pray this week:
· We’ve begun the process of finding the house that will be our next home. Houses in good condition in Duncanville and nearby communities in our preferred price range are in short supply. Pray that God will lead us to a house that will serve our needs and enable us to continue extending hospitality to others. (For those who wonder why we’re making this move: it’s time for us to be in a smaller, single-story house.)
· Mike’s energy remains very low. Pray that God will heal him and restore his energy.
· Eunice is working on a few editorial projects (most notably the next issue of PBT’s Latest Words newsletter). Pray that she will successfully complete her part in this. Pray also for her as she interacts with Jael, a writer who is interning with PBT this summer.
· Pray that God will break through every hindrance to the completion of the Waran, Mbore, and Apal New Testaments. Pray also for protection against Satan’s attacks on the Papua New Guineans and missionaries involved in these projects. And while you’re at it, pray for protection for the entire team there.
