Hong Kong Christian Mission

IBCC China- Wing Wong

  • Praise God for the safe trip to Hong Kong and China!  So far we visited churches in Hong Kong, Guangdong and Sichuan.  We are now on our way to Nanjing and then Wuxi, Shanghai, Jiangxi, Inner Mongolia and Beijing.  Please continue to pray for the rest of our journey that we can bear much fruit for our Lord Jesus Christ!
  • I would like to ask a special request for Brother Qiu, our evangelist in Sichuan.  He was arrested in Hubei for the Gospel’s sake about 15 years ago.  He served about one year in hard labor camp.  After his release, he was not allowed to leave China for five years.  After five years, they re-evaluated his case and concluded that he did not learn his lesson, so they extended the confinement for another five years.  Since then his confinement has been extended twice already.  His last verdict was that he could be free by 2019.  However, Brother Qiu told me yesterday that the authorities in Hubei interviewed him recently and offered to set him free if he would give them all the details of his work and write a confession with an agreement not to be involved in “illegal religious activities.”  Of course, he refused to do so.  The authorities in Hubei extended his confinement to another five years (to 2024) and threatened to report his case to the Sichuan authorities, where he is now servicing four churches.  If they do report to the Sichuan authorities, the Sichuan police will put him under surveillance.  This will greatly hinder our ministry in that area.  Your fervent prayer on behalf of Brother Qiu and our ministry in China is greatly needed and appreciated!
  • Please continue to pray for Stacy’s student visa application.  She just received the Form I-20 from Boise Bible College.  She will begin the visa application process this week.  May the Lord see this done in time for her to come to school for the Fall semester!  Please pray for Fangfang as she will need to get the required TOFEL score in order to be accepted by the college.  Please pray that the Lord will prepare a great team to continue the Chinese ministry when I am no longer able to handle all the work!
  • Finally, we continue to praise God for adding Hannah to our team.  She has been a wonderful co-worker.  I will need her to be in Hong Kong in October to team up with Good News Production International to give the NOMAD (National Outreach with Media And Discipleship) training for our China Team.  We are planning to have five teams trained and equipped.  We are still negotiating the campsite—we have run into a lot of red tape.  Please pray that the Lord will provide!  Hannah will also need to renew her visa to return to the United States after the NOMAD training.  Please pray that all will work out for her as well.  Thank you!
