June 20th is World Refugee Day!

We are witnessing the highest levels of displacement on record. An unprecedented 59.5 million people around the world have been forced from home. Among them are nearly 20 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18. There are also 10 million stateless people who have been denied a nationality and access to basic rights such as education, healthcare, employment, and freedom of movement. 42,500 people are forcibly displaced each day as a result of conflict or persecution. ICOM 2016 will be addressing this challenge with workshops, key interactions, and The RISE Project, which is an initiative of ICOM to educate and train local congregations on how to lovingly, and in culturally sensitive ways, step into local communities of global heritage.

For more information go to www.theicom.org/rise, or pray and ask the Father how you can make a difference.

“Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” (Hebrews 13:2)
