Junior graduates from Bible College
After four years of Bible College Study at Central Philippines Bible College in Cebu Junior Navarrete has been award a Bachelor in Theology in Christian Ministry. It has been a long four years for him since the college is located in another region and language group of the Philippines. The cost has been very high since Bible Colleges in the Philippines are now as expensive as the secular Universities. However we were glad to help him and thank some of our supporters for the help they gave from time to time towards his expenses and food.
Carol and I saw to it that Junior had the means to serve in several internships during his Bible College time. Several were in Kalibo and one was in Negros Island where he helped a small church grow a youth program and reach out in evangelism to their neighborhood. The Negros church wanted him back but sadly there were no funds for an evangelist and so he was not able to follow that possibility.
Before Christmas time we spoke with another veteran missionary who has developed a special program to tutor and mentor new preachers with “hands on” experience and additional evangelistic and Bible Training. He has developed this with a long time well respected Native Evangelism and we will share more in the next update.
Junior was happy that his mother and older brother were able to come and help present his degree and awards. His older brother has helped raise him and has children almost as old as Junior. He was very happy at the ceremony which was attended by a good crowd and there were 8 graduates. He is the main one going into ministry as the others are pursuing some secular education as is so often the case in the Philippines. Junior, however left several days after graduation for Iloilo then went on to his new program which takes a maximum of only 2 preachers at one time. These young preachers must have demonstrated ability for ministry and a resolve to reach the lost!
Junior is a Timothy of Pacific Rim Ministries and the first Timothy of the Kalibo Christian Church (Church of Christ). He came from a non-Christian background but even during family gatherings he would give a Bible Study and invitation to accept Jesus as Savior. He is very straight forward and is developing a stronger resolve and zeal to serve Jesus and follow the Saviors lead wherever it may take him. He came to the Lord in an ancient and culturally resistant region of the Philippines which is a feat in itself!
Please thank God with us that junior has finished his Bible Degree and now has been launched into Christian Ministry. We need more young men who are willing to serve Jesus no matter what sacrifices it may involve and seek to save those who are Lost!
Please Pray for Him as he is now in an intensive mentoring situation and we know that God has some great blessing ahead for us all!
