This year, for the first time in its history, Morning Glory went to a missions conference (ICOM) to recruit interns, volunteers, and partners to our mission.  Dean Pinney tells about his experience representing Morning Glory below.
This year the International Conference on Missions was in Richmond, VA. Morning Glory Christian Academy was gifted with a booth by one of our partnering ministries. I went to represent the ministry and I took my son Tobias to help me with the booth. Thanks to Casas por Cristo, we had an amazing backdrop that explained the partnership that we enjoy in San Raymundo and demonstrated to other mission organizations how very crucial this kind of partnership is to the advancement of the Kingdom of God around the world.
We had a lot of visitors to our booth inquiring about our ministry and it provided us with an opportunity to tell the Morning Glory Story to a lot of new friends. Other ministries came by as well to learn about us and to encourage us as we each prayed for the other’s ministry. We had a large screen television playing a fantastic video presentation that Tobias created to be visually stunning as well as informative. We also had a large, touch-screen all-in-one computer where visitors could actually see our websites and navigate through the websites for themselves.

This year, there was a fantastic focus on internships and a strong presence of college students who were looking for internship opportunities. We had material specifically for internships that we prepared and we had a lot of interest from the students who visited our booth. We had periodical drawings for a free bag of Guatemalan coffee and a beautiful hand-made native coffee sack, which gave us the opportunity to get names and addresses of interested parties. This offer for coffee brought lots of people by the booth in hopes of winning the coffee. While they were there, we told them the Morning Glory Story. While we didn’t get to hear the speakers, we were told that they were phenomenal. We had the chance to talk with other missionaries who were doing similar things and we shared ideas and resources with them.
We were also blessed to see many of our supporters in attendance and they came by to say hello and to hear the latest news and reports. We handed out copies of the latest Navigator Magazine to a lot of the visitors who are just beginning their journey with Morning Glory. We had a long, 20-hour drive from Dallas, Texas to Richmond, Virginia, and another 20-hour drive back, but I believe that it was well worth it because we had access to the right people from the ministries who were passionate about missions and were the decision-makers for the organizations. Hopefully, God will use this to increase the supporting churches and individuals for Morning Glory as we move into the 2016 school year.
Notice to our faithful and loyal followers of Morning Glory Academy from Herb Pinney.
“We want to call your attention to the Christmas Catalog, located by a link on www.morningglorychristianacademy.org and with full shopping cart set up on missionoffaith.org .

Every year our Christmas catalog gives us a big boost into the new year financially. We realize that finances are tight this year and many people are waiting for Black Friday and Cyber Monday to fill their shopping list.

We want to get in on the program. If you are interested in tripling the effectiveness on your shopping list with your investment in Morning Glory by responding to our Christmas Catalog on Black Friday or on Cyber Monday, email at once, Herb Pinney, at nima@zianet.com for instructions.

By the way, our budget wire this week was seven thousand dollars short again.

We are a mission of faith that operates on this month’s income, this month. Please extend us any help you can.. love… Herb Pinney “

PrayersWe are in need of provision to finish 2015 but also plan for 2016.  Lori has some tough decisions to make regarding the budget.  Additionally, Lori’s and Queno’s cars are in need of repairs or upgrades.  Pray for peace, provision, and wisdom for Morning Glory’s leaders. Pray for rest and rejuvenation for our faculty and staff.
Praises! We thank God for helping us finish the 2015 school year strong even though Lori was not physically present.  We thank God for a record-breaking year in student attendance and His provision throughout.
