L.I.F.E. - Love Is For Eternity
Excitement builds in Haiti!
Our brothers and sisters in Haiti are really excited about the construction projects in progress!

New Middle/High School
Eighty seventh grade students are meeting in two temporary classrooms as the new ones are being finished. They are ecstatic as they prepare to move in! There were smiles all around as they visited their new digs recently. (see photo above) The painting is finished and we’re awaiting installation of the ceramic tile, windows and the finish electrical work; all expected in the next week or two. (see photos below)

Money for school construction has been coming in and only a couple of our $3,000 block course donation spots remain unfilled.  Contact Bob@Lifeline.org if you can help.

Grand Goave Christian Church
Construction of the twenty-two concrete support columns is complete and we’re preparing to build and install the steel truss roof system. Pastor Luc and the entire congregation is happily looking forward to the day the new church facility is finished! Much work is still to be done prior to completion of this new facility. (see photos below)

  • Recently, many schools throughout Honduras celebrated Independence Day.  Up on the mountain above San Pedro Sula, the youth at Merendon Christian Church held a spiritual retreat in their beautiful mountain. Pray for this church, who continues impacting with the power of God in this area, and pray for pastor Rony, who is doing a great work. Panama
  • Last week, we asked for you to pray for Romaldo and Enrique, who traveled to Panama with Jose, Lifeline’s administrator in El Salvador.  They are visiting and encouraging the churches.  Jose reports:

Cerro Tula Christian Church was very happy with the visit of Romaldo and Enrique. All the brothers and sisters of our church were singing and praising God with their hearts. This was a very nice experience for our two Salvadoran leaders.  Romaldo and Enrique also encouraged the churches to attend our anniversary in December 2015. The response was very positive.  Cerro Tula Christian Church was attended by 40 people.  Romaldo and Enrique will continue visiting more house churches and the indigenous areas in the mountains.

A note from Bob & Gretchen

To our dear friends and faithful prayer warriors,

Our son Rob’s condition has deteriorated greatly and, as of yesterday, he was placed in Kobacker Home which is a hospice home here in Ohio, not far from where we live.  It is beautiful there and Rob is comfortable.  It appears the tumors that are in the brain are the cause of his confusion. His pain is controlled with the internal pain pump but he has a lot of confusion and anxiety.  While the doctors aren’t giving a time frame for his remaining time here with us on earth, they are saying he will stay there for the duration of his time which may be up to a month.

Thank you for all your prayers; please continue to pray for Rob and our family.  We are at peace and we desire for Rob to enter into glory with Jesus so that the suffering will be over. This stomach cancer is a horrible scourge and Rob has suffered pain continually for 2 years.  Pray for strength for his wife Jen and the children.

As we all walk through this final valley with Rob, we are so grateful to our Lord for giving us this time with him….he has been with us nearly 2 years since his symptoms began, and those years have been a great gift from our Lord; we’ve had lots of talks, time for prayer and planning, and joy. This summer we were able to spend some time with him fishing on his pontoon boat, which he loves.  God is good and we are thankful to Him and to all of you who have joined us in this journey through your prayers and encouragement.

Bless you…

Gifts given to remember

Not in Ohio, yet want to transform lives?
So many times we get an email from you.  You want to meet the physical needs of those involved in Lifeline’s ministry communities, but distance and shipping costs are prohibitive to collecting peanut butter for hungry families and/or shoes for barefoot children.  Here are a couple suggestions:

Shoe drives
In lieu of collecting and shipping new shoes & socks to Ohio, simply donate Walmart gift cards or money to purchase gift cards.  You mail us the gift cards and/or money collected and our staff can purchase the shoes and include them on the next shipping container to Haiti!

Peanut butter drives
Collecting peanut butter is fun, but shipping charges from your location to our Ohio office can quickly become expensive!  One church set up a wholesale account through Smuckers and had the peanut butter shipped directly to our Ohio office.  We can provide you the information to begin this process.
