| First Seek the Lord! The Open the Doors for Business! |
Just a day after our last update was sent, the long-awaited shelving for OKe Mart arrived. It took a lot of hard work to get it properly installed and the shelves stocked with product. With that accomplished the doors opened with a prayer of gratitude and a request for divine blessing at 7AM, 22 August. The response has been encouraging.
Thank you for praying for our OKe team. We are grateful to report that Michael is back to “full power”; Speedy and family have returned with new visas; Reni returned to her role as character-building and music instructor at FAST START; Reni brought along her new “recruit” – she and Narto were married on 29 July. We now have a full initial team in place.
Books are being purchased and prepared for reading rooms. Tutorials have begun in the market area of Rumah Tiga village. The interest in all programs is large. We trust by mid-September that the OKe (aka Operation Opportunity) will open is several locations.
A “bonus” from the building God led us to, is a place for the FAST START pre-school and kindergarten. It was planned to move FAST START during a planned break in early October. More horrible roof leaks during a downpour and other issues with the building necessitated a special “holiday” on 27 and 28 August. Everything was moved and with a lot of hard work on everyone’s part, FAST START opened in the new location on 31 August. Everyone likes the new location! We have already seen an increase enrollment. The K-4 program now has two full sessions! There is room for a maximum of 3 more in K-5; 1 more in pre-K (unless a second session is begun).
