Praise God for the completion of the recordings of Psalms and Proverbs (photo above), and for the publication of the 2016 Lectionary Year C.
Pray for Nathan’s continued healing, and progress toward full recovery.
Pray for my PBT colleague Jill Reipe, and for Steven Dazim and a team of Aruamu men who, beginning mid-November, will be doing the final consultant check on: Ecclesiastes, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi.
Pray for me as I work on preparing Isaiah for the final consultant check next Spring.
Pray for my PBT colleague Jim Bliffen, as he assists 2 Aruamu translators ( Pais Asefi and Robin Namai) in getting their U.S. visas. I am hoping to bring them to the US to work on translation checking for 6 month, beginning in early February.
Pray for the funding for tickets and housing for the 2 Aruamu translators. If God is prompting you to help underwrite this effort, you may make your check to Pioneer Bible Translators, with a sticky note for Aruamu Translation Fund, and mail to the address at the bottom of the page.
Or check out this new giving alternative!
Pioneer Bible Translators Media and Finance teams have recently developed a new alternative for giving to my ministry, and also the Aruamu Translation Fund, the Aruamu Literacy Fund, and the Aruamu Scripture Printing Fund. You are invited to check out this brand new, easy option. (Of course, the normal “check” method listed below works great, as well.)
Dear family and friends, Here we are, entering the Thanksgiving season, and I find myself feeling like I am dancing with my hands raised toward heaven under a waterfall of God’s blessings which are lavishly poured out on us. We are so grateful for your prayers and God’s gracious touch over this last month.
My sweet husband Nathan came through his Aortic Valve Replacement surgery on October 9, and is on his long journey toward full recovery. We have had ups and downs, of course. But his overall trajectory is quite positive. He is currently working hard doing cardiac rehab. I am learning how to help him with a low sodium diet. (I would love any ideas, or recipes for this! Please email them.) So grateful!
Thank you for praying for Martin Ases and John Igos, as they returned to Papua New Guinea after their 6 months of translation checking in the U.S. They have arrived safely back, escorted by our dear friends Bobby Joe and Sue Ellen Wrenn. Their wives and families were thrilled to welcome them home. So grateful!
Thank you also for praying for Steven Dazim and Pais Asefi, as they worked in Madang this month with Bobby Joe Wrenn to record the Aruamu translation of Psalms and Proverbs.
On October 27, Sue Ellen emailed from Madang:
“This morning at 10:20 a.m. Madang time Bobby and crew completed the last few verses of the Aruamu audio recording of Proverbs and Psalms!!! Praise God!!! It took working 6 days a week for 19 days for Steven to complete reading aloud all 150 Chapters of the Book of Psalms! That’s 2,461 verses! And it took Pais 16 days to complete all 30 chapters in the Book of Proverbs with 915 verses! These two men have honored God with their translation capabilities and with the Spirit of God giving voice through them of these words of His Bible in the Aruamu language! Bobby is now zipping up the files to send to Faith Comes By Hearing for their processing. Hallelujah!” Mission accomplished! So grateful!
Thank you also for praying for our diligent work over the last 3 years on producing the 3 Lectionary (Scripture Reading) books, Year A, B, and C, for the Aruamu people. The Aruamu Translation Team started this project in 2012, in partnership with The Seed Company. We are happy to report to you that this last month Year C Lectionary was published. Nathan did the final typesetting the day before his heart surgery. Then I emailed the final copy to my PBT colleague Lori Witham in Madang. Lori and Sue Ellen Wrenn worked together to print the pages, hole punch them, and put them in 3 ring binders for use in Aruamu churches during 2016. Then they boxed them up carefully, double bagged them with plastic for the journey out to the Aruamu jungle. Steven Dazim took them out on a truck just this last week. As I write this, he and the other Aruamu translators are in the process of distributing them to Aruamu churches. So grateful.
Join me in declaring with the Psalmist David: “Bless the Lord, O my soul. And all that is within me bless his holy name!”
