A Thief at a Baptism

An unexpected guest tried to steal Hazar’s joy

When Hazar made the faithful decision to step beyond knowledge about Christ and into a saving relationship with Him, she had no idea that a young thief was lurking in the shadows, waiting to snatch her purse – and her joy.

But God showed Hazar how well He loves His children that day.

A Refugee’s Experience

When he was a little boy in Sudan, his family would go to the church for help. Now, as a grown refugee in America, the Church is still providing for his family.

Pray With Us

Intercede for those who are becoming followers of Christ, despite overwhelming obstacles, persecution, and isolation.

Praise God for the American churches and Christians who are actively showing God’s grace to the refugees around them. Pray that many would come to know true Grace through their interactions with Christians and churches in the US.

Ask God to use this Christmas season as a reminder that many in the world have never heard the Gospel of Christ. Pray that God would send workers into His fields, so that all might know our Emmanuel – God with us!

Emerald Hills Update

by Doug Lucas, President of Team Expansion

Thanks for the Lift!

I love Christmastime. Except for a few irritable shoppers perpetually angry about parking spots, it’s a really happy season with a key reason to celebrate: Jesus!

And this year is no exception. In fact, it’s shaping up to be happier than ever.

For one thing, I’m thrilled about the outcome of a campaign focused on raising funds for a lift (an elevator) to transport our mobility-challenged missionaries and guests (at Emerald Hills) from one level to another.

Until now, these precious friends have all been rolling around via the service road — outside. This trip wasn’t bad on a nice summer day, but during rain and snow, I always felt a pang of guilt that we had no ADA-compliant solution – until now. Because of the generosity of some great friends and partners, all of those bad memories are now a thing of the past, not only for me, but for all our loved ones too.

So thank you Indian Creek Christian Church (who kicked off the campaign with a wonderful matching gift grant) and all those who doubled their gift by walking alongside them. God be praised for working in mighty ways when we join hands and lift the load shoulder to shoulder.

Baptisms

A second reason this season seems happier than usual is because of the growth we’re seeing this year through all those workers trained at Emerald Hills. We had set a bold goal for the number of baptisms in 2017. By God’s grace, that goal has been accomplished in just one individual field – and most of the people coming to Christ there are Muslim!

Team Expansion has truly become a training AND sending organization, thanks in part to the blessing of Emerald Hills.

Thank you for your partnership and shared vision!
