Glen’s Graduation!!!
In April of 2012 our family moved to Cincinnati, OH. Elizabeth was two years old, Hannah was seven months old, and Maddie was not yet even a whisper of a thought in our minds. While at this time there were still questions to be answered, we felt confidently that God was directing our lives toward a future in Western Europe as missionaries. Since we desired to prepare ourselves to answer this calling as best as we could, it was clear to us that seminary was a necessary step toward the mission field.
Over these past four years it has been a joy to study at Cincinnati Bible Seminary while earning my Master of Divinity in Theology. I do not think I could have fully comprehended how God would provide both education and ministry opportunities over this time that would so wonderfully bless us in our preparations for the mission field.
There are so many people from this previous chapter of our lives that I am extremely grateful for. Thank you to my wife, Jessica, who made this degree possible through countless measures of support and sacrifice. Thank you to my children for being loving and excited about my school. You have kept me motivated in so many ways through my studies. I so appreciate my church family and leadership at the Western Hills Church of Christ. You allowed me the honor of keeping my education connected to service in the kingdom. Your support of our family and my desires to serve in a variety of ways will be a continued blessing to those we are able to serve in the future. There are also many professors that I am extremely grateful for. Rick Cherok, Scott Lloyd, Doug Redford, and Tom Vollmer offered courses and teaching which added to my knowledge and excited both my faith in God and my desire to serve the Kingdom. A special thanks must be extended to Jack Cottrell and Johnny Pressley. The theological training that they have offered me for four years has blessed me incredibly. Thank you very much for your faithful and faith-filled instruction.
This Friday, May 13, I am finally graduating. This is exciting for two reasons. First of all, I am really proud for gaining this degree, especially with how it so often required our family to work together and support one another. Secondly, this degree was always supposed to be a stepping stone to something greater. Our hearts have been yearning toward France for a few years now, and this Friday marks the beginning of a new chapter which brings us even closer to this goal. Praise God for how he continues to bless our efforts. Pray for us as we move forward into this thrilling time.
