The preparations are almost done, the trains/hotels/flights are all booked… the Saldis are very shortly on their way to the States. The goal for our 6 week stay is to see as many supporters as possible, visit as many churches as possible and spend some quality time with our family. If we don’t get to visit with some of you, know that we are quite thankful for all of the prayers, greetings and support that you send our way. It makes a huge difference!A few weeks ago we were praying, asking God if he would help with some larger than normal expenses and that very day one of you gave a gift that covered the expenses. It was a lesson in communicating with God what we need and also with you, our supporters, what is going on in our lives. If you are a part of our Facebook group you’ll get to see where we will be and when we will be there. If not please search us at ‘The Saldi Family in France’ to receive some information on where we will be. In all we will be able to visit somewhere around 8 churches and nearly all of our individual supporters (sorry to those of you in Texas, it’s a long flight and a lot to crunch in!).
Practically speaking we will be praying that God will move 6 supporters to join the team. Our goal is for each supporter gives $50 a month for 3 years. This will ensure the lasting impact of our ministry here in France. If that sounds like something you or someone you know wants to do, drop us a mail and let us know. Perhaps we’ll have the time to have a chat in person during the next month.—In other news here in France the church at Descartes celebrates it’s one year anniversary tomorrow (Sunday, Oct 22). We’ll have a church service as normal but also a little party afterwards with some special souvenirs for everyone to remember this day by. Our goal is to also post photos in our Facebook group for us all to celebrate by. Thanks again to everyone who has prayed for this church, we still have so long to go in achieving some of our goals but we very much want to involve everyone to make sure we get there. We’re thankful for Vanessa and Pauline who will be teaching our children on Sunday! We would also like to ask for your prayers for our building situation in Descartes. The goal is to change buildings within 2 months but a lot of this depends on the municipality and their approval of our utilisation of the building to welcome the public. Rules are a little tighter for us than for the stores that surround us. We’ve done everything we can, now we just need favor with the mayor’s office to make sure everything runs smoothly. —In final news before leaving for America, Greg will be preaching at both campuses and Nikki will be leading worship. This will make for a full Sunday but a good Sunday. This past week we helped a young girl in middle school by tutoring her in english. We’re constantly looking for God’s fingerprints and how he wants us to fulfill his will. We’ll also be hosting a night of cookies and crafts around Christmas. All of these things are great but need to be bathed in prayer. Can you commit to do that with us?
