Dear Friends and Supporters
GHANA
TEE Promotion in the north
Godfred Mintah and Afrifa Konadu traveled to seven areas in northern Ghana to explain the leadership training program of the Christian Leadership Training Institute. They met with church planters and local leaders of the congregations. Some of the leaders were from the neighboring nations of Togoand Burkina Faso.
One church planter gave this response: ”We are very happy about this program and we see it as a timely intervention. Many of the churches are without leaders. We are ready to receive this program because your presence with us is a prayer answered.”
Leaders from the Saboba area who will start TEE classes
The TEE program of the Institute provides training materials and a three-step strategy for developing leaders within local congregations. We train church planters and local leaders how to use the lesson materials in a three-step method that develops Bible knowledge and godly leadership for the congregations. We supervise their training. We give advice and guidance in leadership development.
Occasionally a TEE student decides to serve God in a full-time capacity. Several TEE students have become church planters.
TEE classes are organized in each congregation. The home-study lessons are their teacher. A local leader or a church planter serves as group leader for the weekly discussion sessions. We train the group leader to challenge TEE students to apply what they learn from their home study to their personal life and to their leadership in the congregation. Plans are made during the discussion sessions to put God’s will into action in their life, in their congregation and in their community.
Group leaders for the TEE classes will be trained at Tamale on April 16 through 21. The training is extensive. We expect 50 or more to participate. New classes will begin in May or June. Classes will be supervised by Afrifa Konadu, the new supervisor for TEE in northern Ghana.
IVORY COAST
Three TEE classes continue in the Abidjan area. These classes are for congregations of Ghanaians who migrated there for employment.
Francis Addae recently visited the congregation at Anono in Abidjan. Francis began his journey in the Lord’s service at this congregation. He completed a curriculum of TEE classes and then returned to Ghana where he completed three years of study at Ghana Christian College. He is now a church planter in the Salaga area of Ghana.
Roujee and Juliet Morris supervise the TEE classes in Abidjan. Juliet teaches kindergarten in a Christian school to supplement their income.
