Don’t Cancel Your Hotel Rooms!!
Read This First:

1. If you have a room booked for ICOM at one of our hotels, but are not able to come – DON’T cancel your room! If you cancel with the hotel, that room goes back into the hotel inventory instead of back in our block.
2. Instead: Join the ICOM Facebook Group “ICOM Hotel Swap” and write a post about your reservation. Include the dates you’re staying & the amount of rooms you have reserved. Then if someone wants to take your room reservation, private message them and make a plan to switch over the hotel room.  
3. You will both need to call the hotel to make sure your credit card is taken off the reservation and someone else’s is put into that reservation. This is a great way to help someone wanting to attend ICOM get a room at the discounted rate

• All the ICOM hotels are full or have very limited rooms. Some of them will have single nights available, but we suggest calling the hotel directly to see what nights they have left in our block. Click here to go to the Housing page on the ICOM website.
• The cut off date for securing a hotel room is Oct 16th.  After that, the contracted hotel room price goes away, and the cost will go up.  There will be some rooms opening up as folks have last minute changes that will keep them from attending ICOM.  So, keep trying to get into the hotel you want to up until Oct. 16th. Then – as we said above, check the ICOM Hotel Swap Facebook Group. Someone might be trying to cancel a room!
• THERE IS ANOTHER HOTEL!  The Clarion Hotel is just over 3 miles away from the convention center with lots of amenities, great for youth groups. They do offer airport shuttle service as well as a good nightly rate. Keep in mind, you’ll have to find transportation to the LCC/Rupp Arena or drive yourself each day. There is free parking at the convention center.
• We know sometimes its a hassle to deal with all the planning arrangements, but it’s important to get your housing taken care of for the conference!
